Kane's Movie - Will it tank?

John Cena's will tank more though..

Yeah, you don't shoot for drama on the first try!!! You're still just a wrestler!! Start out small, dammit! A high-octane action thriller like Firestorm or any random Rowdy Roddy Piper movie!!

But what's the budget on this thing? If they made it on the cheap, and have a good marketing strategy, it can at least make back its budget. And Lion's Gate has yet to take a loss in the horror/slasher genre.

The very idea of the WWE attmepting to make movies is abhorrent.

The WWE didn't have anything to do with the script or the production of the thing other than the fact that Kane is in it.. didn't they just finance it?

I say it looks like a good time. Kane just better not have many lines though.

Maybe it would have faired a little better if it had been released around Halloween. It won't be any competition to other big movie releases this summer.

$8,000,000 (estimated). Has anyone seen any previews for the movie on tv other than on Raw or Smackdown?

i think it looks decent, just a dumb fun slasher flick, not really expecting anything else

I do agree with you about the release date for this film. Why they are releasing it as the blockbuster season is gearing up doesn't make sense.

It might've been better to release it in January, or just wait until October. I do think it will do decent at the box office however. If it is a hard R-rated flick it will provide a gory horror alternative to the other films in May.

And more than likely it was made pretty cheaply and should be able to make its money back on DVD if not in the theatres. I do think that See No Evil will do better than both the Cena and Steve Austin movies though.

I may go just for the goofy factor. It looks crazy. And Kane is my guy.

Well, I think the measure of success for this movie is very low, but it's also opening next to the DaVinci Code. It's gonna have a quick run in theaters and make it's money in DVD sales.

I think it looks good. Kane has been cast right, as an evil monster, which we know he can play, as opposed to the Rock who really should have been in comedies instead of action movies. And the premise of the movie isnt that bad either, guy killing in the name of god and cutting out peoples eyes and then keeping them in jars, sounds fun to me :o

When I first saw it, I would have said "This movie rocks".

However, week after week after week of the damned incessant plugging has, at least for me, killed all interest I had in seeing it. Yes, we know Kane has a movie coming out May 19th. We got the message the first time. Quit shoving it.

Apparently Vince McMahon is said to be very high on Kane's movie, but not so high on Cena's.

Cena's movie is going to bomb...WWE fans wont see it cause about 90% of them hate Cena at this point (the whole no talent thing probably plays into that), and the movie sounds like a pile of crap anyway

I'll see it on the DVD. Is a slasher film not high art for christ sake.

And Kane's in it:up:

Cena's movie will suck. He's beyond overexposed anyhow:o

I think it looks great and of the commercials I see they don't show anything at all with the WWE, so that might help it with the stigma of wrestling.

Its not like he is going for an oscar here. He is playing a slasher in a horror movie. It could end up being pretty good. Although I think it will probably be another bad slasher flick. If it wasnt WWE, it would probably be straight to DVD.

If I was marketing the movie, I probably would not even credit Kane in the previews. To get away %100 of the WWE stigma, like Kable said.

What movie is Cena doing?

btw, I have to say The Rock has been suprisingly effective and entertaining in the movies he has done so far (save Scorpion King and Be Cool). He has great screen prescence like Shwartzanegger. I thought he was a little dissapointing in Doom, but it was still a fun flick.

I think "X-Men" is the only movie featuring a wrestler when the wrestler actually did a good acting job.

This is gonna suck, and suck hard.

Who was the wrestler that was in X-Men?

Just post more stuff that null and voids your opinion

I have to agree. People are too hard on him IMO. He's improved greatly so he's been learning alot. Walking Tall has been his best in the acting department.
