Phillips Reveals Old School Sequel Bits

Source: Skewed and Reviewed September 14, 2006

Skewed and Reviewed talked to School for Scoundrels co-writer/director/producer Todd Phillips about his Old School sequel in development at DreamWorks Pictures.

Phillips said that the title for the film will be Old School Dos. He is currently working on the script and will show it to the actors (Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell), who aren't signed yet, upon completion.

Phillips revealed that the sequel will shed more light on Ferrell's character and why his wife was so concerned that his alter ego, Frank the Tank, never see the light of day again.

The 2003 comedy earned $74 million domestically.

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

i don't care how stupid the story is... it's old school, and we'll get to see the origins of frank, the (maybe bed bath and beyond) tank, and that is a slice of fried gold.

I remember thinking OLDSCHOOL was pretty overrated... I should watch it again to see if I enjoy it more now.

it get's better each time you watch it, like airplane or hot shots

It's too bad the actor playing "Blue" is no longer with us. It would have made for great flashback scenes.

Yo!

You Know It....you Know It!!!!

while I will definately go see Old School Dos, I can't help but think that it will be somewhat of a let down. The best part of teh first one for me was teh fact that I was completely surprised by how good and funny it was. I had no hype whatsoever for the movie, and I saw it in an advanced screening with my fraternity borhters of all people. All of us were surprised by how good the movie was, and that can't be replicated again for this one.

Sucks that it'll focus on Frank. Ferrell's big comedy is good in doses and in the background but bring it to the front...

I liked Luke as the lead. He's a different kind of funny that doesn't get old so easily.

Yeah, I know. They're only doing this to capitalize on Will Ferrel's huge success, since Luke Wilson's gone nowhere really.

He just needs the right role and he'd be golden. There's an A-Team movie in the works at the moment and is it just me or would Luke be perfect as Face. That could potentially give him the noteriety he so richly deserves.

Also if you wanna talk talent check out the wrist slashing scene in Royal Tenenbaums. He speaks about seven words and yet imbues that scene with so much feeling and pathos that it SHOULD rank around the top of any list of "best performances".

I don't mean he's gone nowhere as an actor. But he's not exactly the box office draw that Will Ferrel is right now. That's a fact.
