Karl Urban IS Skurge The Executioner

When was it confirmed Stone wasn't going to be Janet? I missed that. Links/source?

It hasn't actually been confirmed, it's all still just speculation at this stage, but Stone commented in an interview that (paraphrasing) she is playing a superheroine (which automatically rules out Enchantress) with 'heat powers', so that seems to rule out Wasp, unless a) she's kidding around; or b) Wasp's sting power could be very loosely translated as a 'heat' power.

MbJ, I think the age of a potential actress to play Enchantress would definitely be a matter of concern to Marvel. If they want to stay fairly true to the comics with her obsession with seducing Thor, then I imagine they would want to cast someone around Chris Hemsworth's age group. Just my opinion though.

A lot of people are speculating that she's going to play Nikki from the original Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hmm, seems like Skurge will be to Hela what he was to Enchantress in the comics. That's a cool little dynamic. Since he may be a bit more relevant, we may see some great personality from him.

Looking forward to this. Karl Urban is great

"He stood alone at Gjallerbru... and that answer is enough."

I wonder if any CGI is used on Urban to bring the size of Skurge to life?

I wouldn't count on it. They tend to just leave human-looking characters with improbable physiques as is in the MCU. Hemsworth isn't exactly as huge as classic Thor is often drawn being.

Urban did say he was wearing a suit that would cover him up, so that's probably pretty bulky. He said he had worked out a lot for this role, but that it wouldn't show due to that suit.

Yeah, I think he'll be comparible in size to Thor as opposed to the likes of what they did with Kurse.

I think I only learnt of this casting choice today, and it made me so happy that if this movie wasn't already my most anticipated CBM of this year, it would've jumped there.

I thought you knew Karl was Skurge? lol Well better late than never lol I find it funny he plays a doctor named Bones too. lol

The first photo of him was actually from the set of Ragnarok and apparently it was Taika Waititi who shaved his head. On the second photo from the set of the movie you can see him next to Hela with his giant axe.

I don't think that second pic is Urban, just a crew member holding Skurge's axe. The axe confirms that he's definitely in the scene though.

I love the casting for Skurge, Karl Urban is awesome in LotR and Dredd and he's definitely great at playing fearsome, badass characters. All we know about Skurge so far is what has come from Urban himself. He apparently has a really good character arc in the film (Skurge's last stand, anyone?) and a lot of his scenes are with Hela. I think from that it's safe to say that Skurge will be Hela's loyal henchman, just like he is Amora's in the comics. Does anyone think they'll make him obsessionally in love with Hela like he usually is with Amora?

Hadn't looked too much into the casting for this movie, but have to say I'm looking forward to seeing Skurge. Agree that Karl Urban can really bring it when it comes to some badass characters.

Just kind of awesome how many interesting characters they have going into this. Since he's presumably Hela's second in command he'll get some good screentime. But also just nice that they are putting in a second in command for the main villain who has that kind of presence. Not just a bland stand in.

Urban as MCU Skurge is so great. Hopefully in that trailer we get a look at him.

They gave Skurge his Earth rifles. That is gonna go over well with the hardcore Thor fans for sure. Urban looked like a bad cosmic mofo.

And this brings the question, where did he get the M16s in Asgard?

Skurge looks badass.
"Skurge Last Stand" for damn sure.

can someone photoshop the Judge Dredd helmet over skurge's face?
