Keanu Reeves + Yuen Clan = Tai Chi Tiger.

the action in this movie was f.... amazing. Reeves learned a lot from the Wachowskis. he knew when to use a shaky cam, wide shots and camera movement on a crane. He knows how much time goes into training for those fighting scenes so he always makes sure that we see everything from the actors.

the acting is over the top. its an oldschool martial arts movie. some of the camera movements are so clean, steady and natural that you forget that its moving around the fighters.

i think Reeves needs a low budget scifi movie so that we can see how he does with real actors and a more complex story. lets say 50 millions.

I liked it a lot. Good entertainment. There's nothing to brag about here , the movie is very safe and normal in terms of choreography , it has a lot of cheese but...its fun. And Keanu acting is god-awful , that is almost charming eheh.

i like how Keanu was on purpose over the top because he was aware what his B movie needed.

I saw Man of Tai Chi about two months back and I enjoyed it.

Keanu's character 'Donaka Mark' was like a final boss from a 90's video game, but I liked that. For his directorial debut, it could haven went a lot worse.
