this sounds like terrible news. Just because they can make movies doesn't mean they should. Look what happend with the Batman franchise before Nolan. Look at the useless celuloid that Lucas has churned out in the last few years and dared attach "STAR WARS" to it. Nearly half the movies he's been attached to have flopped, Daredevil, Hulk, Man Thing, Punisher... And half of the things he wants to put out will flop, Antman, Werewolf by night, Submariner. I fear he doesn't know what he's doing. Much like Arad, who unless he had a director that fought him every step of the way, produced flops

Hopefully Raimi & crew will stick to the franchise for as long as possible but I doubt Raimi wants to spend the rest of his life making Spidey flicks.You can replace Tobey or Kirsten, but you can never replace Raimi & the crew's work.

I believe it was a few months ago. He made the announcement about 4 villians when he announced he was leaving.

It depends on how much they spend and how much they cost. Personally I don't see this franchise going past 5 and also personally I'm not sure I want it to go past 3 if we lose our key stars (never a good hting for a franchise) and especially the creative force that would no doubt follow.

I think at this time in film studios especially Sony understand a lot more what needs to be done to make these movies work. If Bond can do it...Spidey EASILY can.

I doubt we're in danger of this franchised becoming Schumacherized. Marvel sounds like they've learned from past mistakes (Hulk, Elektra, etc...) and they're exercising much more control over how their films will be made. I think even if Raimi leaves, they will be able to continue the franchise without damaging it.

More sequels would be fine. However, they have to be very careful in doing so.
It is unfortanute that these movie companies only look at sequels as a way to make more money at the box office. They rush through the sequels and dont do them right. It is too bad they dont really care about what the fans would want in a sequel. They just throw together a sequel with no real effort. IMO, if the spider-man franchise got more movies made, I think it would be in good hands though.

Why is Avi getting the boot as President of Marvel Studios? That makes no sense to me.

Avi resigned to focus on Avi Arad Productions and will produce all Spiderman sequels, Iron Man, The Hulk, for certain and can choose others if he wishes. However this removes conflicts of interest if he wishes to produce non-marvel projects, and also allows him to sell Marvel shares and not be an insider or gives him an excuse to do so which makes more sense.

Regarding Spiderman there's loads of stories to tell. Hell they can create an entire film around a short storyline featured in a few issues...and there are hundreds and hundreds of issues to choose from before getting to the cheese. Kraven, Moleman, Electro, Lizard, Man-Wolf, Carnage, Punisher,Kingpin, Bullseye could pop up, Black Cat, and a load more I'm sure you guys can think of.

Regarding the cast and director. Sony's not going to give this franchise to some turd director. The Spiderman franchise has literally saved this companies yearly earnings twice already. I think bringing in a fresh new face for Peter Parker would be great. Tobey's looking kind of old anyway. Raimi is awesome but what would Spiderman be like with someone else? Raimi isn't the only director who can make an awesome spiderman movie...he's just the only one we've wintessed. Maybe Cameron will come back and make a digital 3d Spiderman like his Avatar film...who knows? Sony could find the next up and commer like Raimi and give us a totally different spin on Spidey with a unique style..just like artists brought their own style to the books.

im all for more movies as long as there not ACTION movies and truly are of the same quality level we have received so far. i still dont know what to think about a new cast though (even if there is a good script). even if there good replacements, we've all fallen in love with the cast we know now...

I'm not too sure about this idea, I don't want another spidey movie unless Raimi & his crew along with Tobey Maguire, Kristen Dunst & the rest of the remaining cast continue .

I really don't want to see The spidey franchise go thought the same crap like The BATMAN franchise did before BATMAN BEGINS or The SUPERMAN franchise did before SUPERMAN RETURNS, because the studio's didn't know when to quit and all they cared about was making money .

It has regenerative abilities and Connors slowly begins transforming into the Lizard. Max Dillon, an electrician that worked at the plant alongside Ben Parker was on a routine inspection of the company's transformers. He is up on the line and a storm rolls in and blasts the line...zapping Dillon onto the transformers where he receives massive amounts of electricity. Dillon doesn't know what to do and misses a lot of work as the lights and electricity around him continues to go on and off. He is angered and kills his boss unknowingly. He turns to crime and fights Spidey. The Lizard takes over Connors at the middle and he has two villians to worry about. The remaining symbiote escapes and finds Brock in his jail cell for the cliffhanger.

Meh...I was bored...Arad angered me with what he did with X3 or what he didn't do with it. Maybe this new guy can change things up a little.
