Kevin Smith will "Hit Somebody"

It's been awhile since this was updated but there's been an update. For awhile, it was to be 2 films but then it was changed back to one movie. Now it's a miniseries:

Honestly, I think this is closer to a guy not willing to cut out the fat from his own script as opposed to needing 6 hours to tell a story. But we'll see

It's probably more likely to find an audience this way. I'm sure he would prefer the original idea of two movies, but it would have been hard to get them both financed.

I really like Kevin Smith's work, and I'll watch this, but I really had hoped that red state would mark a transition to more genre films for him. He worked out of his comfort zone and I think he did great, it's shame that this will be his last film, or has he since dropped that whole retiring from film idea?

He just tweeted that since Hit Somebody will now be a mini-series, his final film will be Clerks 3.

hmmm, I guess that makes me feel a little better lol, I wish he wasn't retiring though, Red State was awesome, I'd like to see him venture out of his comfort zone again.

Best thing is apparently the idea for it to be a miniseries came from none other than Mewes, nooch.

I agree. Red State is an amazing film. I wonder how much of what he learned from Red State he'll bring to Clerks III and Hit Somebody.
