Posted this in the Smith thread that got closed so I'll just throw it in here:

I applaud him for making the types of movies he likes, I've heard his story(making Clerks while in his 20s, giving it his all), I think that's great and shows he has a dedication to what he does. He even seems like a cool person. I have seen a handful of his films and honestly just found them too crude, I don't like his subject matter and don't have much interest in seeing anymore of his comedies. His writing is just too distasteful for my liking.


Smith makes films and does his job, but his movies are most definitely not for me.

“The Office's" Craig Robinson and former porn star Traci Lords have joined the cast of Kevin Smith's "Zack & Miri Make a Porno" for The Weinstein Co. and Dimension Films says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centers around two lifelong friends -- Zack and Miri -- who after finding themselves deep in debt enlist their friends to make a pornographic movie with the goal of earning some quick cash.
Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks and Jason Mewes have already been cast in the lead roles. Ricky Mabe ("Beautiful People"), Jeff Anderson ("Clerks II") and Katie Morgan (HBO's "Katie Morgan: A Porn Star Revealed") have also joined the film.
Production is set to begin Wednesday.
