Kevin Smith's Red State finally happening.

the movie started out sort of promising, but quickly deteriorated and continued to deteriorate as it progressed. poorly produced and cheaply written.

This seems to be getting all sorts of mixed reviews and opinions from people. I'm vaguely curious to give it a look.

did you watch it I SEE SPIDEY?
Yep, a couple of weeks ago.

I liked John Goodman enough to give it a shot. It's just too forgettable. I'm not overly familiar with Smith's work so this is one of the few films of his that I've viewed. I watched bits of some of his other stuff but didn't care for those bits and decided that he just wasn't for me. Red State at least was a horror-ish film though so I gave it a shot.

I hardly remember what happened in the film because of it's forgettable nature but I do think that the first half was more interesting than the first and that the movie seemed oddly toothless.

So was there a big supernatural event at the end or is this more a claustrophobic survival horror? A trailer led me to believe that it was more grounded with deranged people running around.

^To be honest, I wouldn't even really call it a horror movie. It's not particularly scary, nor does it even try to be.

I spent most of the movie thinking about how effed up the situation was and then laughed during the last ten minutes.
