Kevin Smith's Tusk

It's beautiful.

This is going to make so much money hahaha. For sheer curiosity alone.
I predict this will be Kevin Smith's most successful film ever.

If the above is true then it's going to be bordering too much on The Human Centipede for my tastes and some of the audience... at least no one's going ATM in this though.

I'm glad Kevin Smith is back at the movies, i still have a hard time believing he somehow burned his career to the ground with that Red State bidding fiasco.

I really love this man. Kevin Smithi is inspiration not only to filmmakers and writers but to people in general. Heart of gold !!

I don't think its close to the human centipede. I expect better acting and awesome dialogue and less gross scenes. If they are Hostel level of gross then i'm ok but i think we are getting more Shinning/Suspiria terror.

I'd find this project more original and exciting if Human Centipede hadn't been there before (Smith himself mentioned the connection in one of his podcasts.)
I might still check it out for the cast, Long and Parks are both great actors.

I can't wait for this. I really hope this got his creative juices flowing again and he's brushed aside his intentions of retiring.

Wait the same KS who you see continually going off on people in the news when things don't go his way on set or during a production? He seems to always be feuding with someone over the slightest of things. I thought this guy had pretty much become a laughing stock now?

Yeah, that guy.

Yep, I think this will be more unsettling and psychological than visually graphic.

It's the "transformation" of a human into another animal by surgical means that is off-putting. Having seen most of The Human Centipede (I ended up skipping through most of it) I'm not too thrilled with the idea of seeing more of it.

Being less graphic and less torturous in the depiction would help but I don't know what Kevin Smith's depth is going to be for the gore.

Glad to see Osment back, great actor.
Also I hope they use The Beatles' "I'm the Walrus" in the soundtrack:woot:

That would be great, though isn't it really difficult to get film rights for Beatles songs?

I doubt it'll be a hugely successful movie, it'll be small and he'll probably tour it himself, like he did Red State. That's what the Red State "fiasco" is all about really, him marketing his own movies. Kevin Smith knows he'll never make a blockbuster movie, he doesn't even want to, he likes his little indie projects and with that he doesn't want someone to pump twice the budget of his picture into marketing it and getting it into theaters. He sounds like a guy who's just having fun, doing whatever he feels like. This movie was a busy project/writing experiment for him while he's waiting for legal stuff on Clerks 3.

He would have had more exposure working with Blumhouse, but I guess it couldn't work schedule-wise.

I'd like to see him take a crack at sci fi. It doesn't even have to be an action tent pole, just a straight sci fi thriller.

Good god the Walrus design in this. I didnt want to look at it but i couldn't look away.

It's not a good movie but I had fun watching it with friends due to the ridiculousness of it all. But that walrus design.....ugh. Reminded me of Pizza the Hut from Spaceballs.

did the design leak on the internet? i need to see it.
