Wednesday Night 10/ 9 c.
Premieres 9/20

The unthinkable has become a reality for Ellie and Conrad Cain – their fifteen-year-old son, Leo, has been kidnapped. Is this shocking crime a business vendetta? Or is it something more personal? Whatever the reason, a child’s life hangs in the balance and the clock is ticking. Nothing is what it seems as the Cain family begins to unravel from the inside out. Desperate to reclaim their son, they enlist the help of an expert named Knapp who is known for his dangerous, yet effective, high-profile rescues. Now Ellie and Conrad must avoid police interference, try to keep the kidnappers in line and deal with increasing suspicions towards each other. This high-stakes, serialized thriller will keep you guessing right up to the very end.

I was able to see the Pilot early and it is my second favorite new show of the season. It had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Interesting characters and dynamics, great acting, and a suspenseful plot. The ending of the Pilot, is abrupt (in a good way) and leaves the audience wanting more. Wanting to see what happens next.

do you work for NBC?

No. Just caught the show early- about four weeks ago to be exact. And second favorite new show of the season.

I watched it..I think it is going to be a good show. I am wondering if the whole series will revolve around this one kidnapping or if others will happen also?

The creator is actually on the blog right now!!! The one that they advertised during one of the commercials. Here's what was posted about that question:

Season Two?

To answer Dave...he wrote how can you have a season 2 without losing the family portion of the cast?

One of the other things I was attracted to in this kind of storytelling was the versatility of the kidnapping story engine. The kidnapping is just the beginning. It's the catalyst. The touchstone that links all these disparate characters together. Then the characters bring with them their own conflict and secrets. That's where we find the drama. The kidnapping is the backdrop.
To answer your question Dave, we'll find a new family for Knapp, King and Turner. We'll see what realm that kidnapping launches us into. Whether it be political or espionage or high-stakes action.

I think it will be one big kidnapping. ALthough if you saw the Preview for Next week it looks like somebody else gets Kidnapped.

That's the daughter, a Brown University student. So, the kidnapper is going after the family and not just the son.

But, yeah- each season will be centered on a big kidnapping that spans the entire season. With a new kidnapping each season with a different family and everything that may or may not even change the tone of the show (think tone change such as in s2 of Lost and Prison Break)

More like each season of 24, where a new terrorist threat is taken on, Lost and Prison Break have continued the same basic story from the first season.

As for Kidnapped, I felt it sucked big time. Totally generic, saw all the twists a mile away, brings nothing new to the genre. The show lost me as soon as the first note was delivered, "Don't tell the police" the kidnapping took place in broad daylight in the middle of the street, with loud gunfire! How did the police not get involved!?!?!

It's not the best pilot I've seen but it has caught my interest.

I liked it. Watched it last night right after Jericho.

Watxhed it last night,it was ok.
I'm sure I'll watch it again.

it was good...there's nothing else on Tuesday I wanna see anyway. So might as well watch it. But its way more interesting that that borefest on fox...Vanished.

Also....didn't Delroy Lindo play the exact same character in Ransom...lol.

Good show.

I like it better than Vanished, this thing is not as convulted or ****ing insane as that one. That **** is mind **** to the extreme.

This show is more down to earth, and I dig that.

And yeah....basically, it's RANSOM: THE SERIES.

And yeah...Lindo is playing the same dude...it's probably why he's owning it....

****....already?

Okay.....I need a list of what got cnacelled...cause, I'm starting to get pissed here..

 This show got cancelled? Link please..something...

NBC announced the sort-of cancellation of its Wednesday night drama "Kidnapped," which stars Jeremy Sisto. NBC gambled by putting the show in the time slot held for a long time by "Law & Order," and it failed miserably.

"Kidnapped" will be moved to the television purgatory of Saturday nights, starting Oct. 21. Its producers have been told to wrap up the serialized drama's story lines by the end of the show's 13-episode order, NBC said.

so...is that just partialized cancelling?

should the way tv shows in america are run be changed to a different format...sort of like a string of miniseries? or is that more expensive?

Well.....I dunno. I mean, it sounds like it will atleast get an ending. And....I guess that's what I want. To see it have atleast some kind of closure.

I'd rather it continue.....but if we get closure, and it gets an actual ending.....as apposed to just getting cancelled and leaving us hanging.....I dunno, I might be somewhat satisfied with that.

But will it suffer from being rushed?
