Essentially while he's EIC, Ben Reilly has a possibility of coming back, Baby May has none :(

How does Ben Reilly have a chance of coming back, WHEN HE'S ****ING DUST, but baby May who disappered does not? Besides Ben was only created to replace Peter we all went "Oh **** that" so Marvel killed him off. He has served his purpose. Baby May is the one who opens story possibilities though.

Well when presented with the question of whether or not Ben Reilly will ever return, Joey Q responded with "Keep reading".

By making him into dust, Marvel inadvertantly opened the door themselves. Clone Degeneration don't work that way dude, only imperfect clones go to dust, those who degenerate, simply leave really scarred corpses. And Reilly was an excellent character who's "brother" dynamic with Pete took the books in a whole new tone and direction. If people hadn't crapped all over Reilly the minute he stepped into the books (Trust me I was one of those people), Baby May would still be around, Osborn would still be dead, and the frigging Spider-Man supporting cast would still be in existence

What an idiot.

So...let's bring back the paradigm of the (now third) worst Spidey story ever. Ugh. I swear, I'm trying to think of anything else he could mess up instead, and I can't think of anything. He's ruined everything else as it is.

For the record, I didn't hate Ben Reilly, I hated the Clone Saga. His Scarlet Spider costume sucked s*** through a straw, though. Still, Reilly is dead. He was stabbed in the back, dropped 20 stories, and he disentegrated. "Perfect Clone" whatever, he's dead.

The only other alternative is that Osborne replaced the real Reilly with another clone...and I don't think any of us want to follow that path to it's inevitable conclusion...:down

Ben Reilly coming back would be the icing on the cake of crap Joe Q has made out of Spidey :down :(

Technically, Spider-Girl has 102 issues...remember #0 and 1/2? 103 if ya count the What If.

Actually Spider-Girl #0 and the What if are the same story.

If you're going to bring back the regular universe Ben Reilly than everything from that era of the Clone Saga would have to resurface as well. Kaine. Scriers. Baby May too.

If you're going to bring back one, you have to AT LEAST acknowledge the other. And I don't think Marvel is going to do that with all the Civil War stuff going on and Spider-Man's identity being public.

Well when presented with the question of whether or not Ben Reilly will ever return, Joey Q responded with "Keep reading".

And he could mean Ultimate Ben Reilly. Considering that the Ultimate Clone Saga is going on in USM we'll probably be seeing that guy. So, technically, Joe Quesada wouldn't be lying.

Wait I got it....Ultimate Baby May. Peter is a youngin' may not know how to use protection properly and....just kidding. :p

But I kinda' like baby May staying gone as "dead" leaving an aura of tragedy over Peter Parker's life, so when he has another kid (I do hope a daughter, as a superhero having a son who will grow up like the old man has been done to death, and Peter would be the one to have a daughter) it can haunt him but he is happy.

I just wish they went this route instead of him WILLINGLY unmasking himself. It just goes against the character for 40 years and for him to fight against Captain America on an issue HE KNOWS IS WRONG, is so stupid in my opinion. Now if Iron Man turned on Pete when he wouldn't fight against other heroes and they duked it out, Iron Man won, drugged him and made him unwillingly unmask himself that is one thing, then Pete would join Cap's side before the violence broke out....but this, meh.

Oh well though.

Bart Simpson has been in the fourth grade for almost 18 years and it doesn't seem to bother anyone.

Simpsons stoped being good after the 4th season.:o

They've aged 1 year on South Park after 11 seasons and each year makes fun of political and social hitches going on at the time. Like how can they be in third grade when Clinton is impeached but fourth grade during the election of '04?

Or for that matter how can Pete be 18 or 19 when Flash Thompson goes off to the Vietnam War but no older than 30 when 9/11 happens?

Don't start questioning timelines because it will just start hurting your brain...a lot. :(

Very true. I really don't think they want to risk bringing ANYTHING back including Ben. That's all dirt swept under the rug to them and bringing Ben back would basically confirm their worst fears - the clone saga did happen.

I think the Ben coming back hype is really just Reily fanatics looking too deep into things. As far as Marvel's concerned the clone saga doesn't exist including everything that was a result of it (especially Ben and May).

Methinks you're on to something, afterall he never said which book to keep reading.

And you took that to mean he's going to bring Ben back? When Quesada has out and out lied about events happening? He said a few months back a member of the FF would die- permanently. Didn't happen.

Plus he's said numerous times that the next spidey story will rock the marvel universe forever...I see no rocking. :o

no no no there's no rocking. it's "cracking". as in "cracking the internet in half". :cwink:

Sad baby May didn't happen as that should be just as tramautic if not moreso than losing Gwen. He lost his ****ING DAUGHTER, and she hasn't been mentioned I bet since 2000 in the comics. If Joey Q thinks the clone saga can be swept away, what's he going to do when he finds his stupid Other bull**** swept away (Civil War's stain will be much harder to hide from though).

Yeah I'm sorry but the way her "death" was handled SUCKED. I've known parents who lost their children and they are never the same after it, it's really devastating. :(

That's another thing I didn't like about the Millar run on MKSM. He has Gargan say to Peter's face that Osborn killed May. And Peter's reaction is completely deadpan. He should have been ready to rip both Gargan and Osborn's heads off.

Indeed. I really think Joey Q is being a real idiot by not even acknowledging this anymore. if he wants to keep a new baby comin' fine, but at least give them sorrow and loss then.
