"Killing Joke" Availability

I just bagged a copy from an Amazon re-seller for £4..Thanks for the tip-off ;)

Last year I went everywhere looking for TKJ. Couldn't find a single copy anywhere and the stores said they no longer make prints. But later I went to barnes and nobles and saw "The Best stories of Alan Moore" and the very last comic it includes is TKJ so I bought it for like $25. I still have yet to read the other stories, I just skip to Killing Joke.

I can't find it in my local comic book store, but I'll be sure to check it out.

For those still interested in TKJ and don't feel like paying exorbitant auction prices on this classic ...or just don't want to buy the Alan Moore TPB for some reason, hope may lie on the horizon. The following is from an interview with Georg Brewer, Vice-President of Design and Retail Product Development with DC Direct:
I asked about the Killing Joke boxed set. It’s interesting to me because Batman and the Joker are new scuplts. Previously, when DC Direct has released two figures in a set with a paperback, it’s been repaints (Superman/Doomsday and Hush Batman/Scarecrow being two examples). Georg said he saw an opportunity because of next year’s Dark Knight movie. He wanted this set in bookstores next summer because it’s the ultimate Batman/Joker story and interest will be high because of the film.

Overall, the discussion was referencing TKJ action figures (which are gorgeous by the way), but the info about the boxed set references packing the figs with a paperback. Brewer also mention it being it bookstores. If all goes according to plan, I think we're getting a reprint for TDK. :joker:

Plus there will be a HC edition w/extras of The Killing Joke out next year as well,it will probably be like the Year One HC that was released during Batman Begins.

the alan moore compilation has alot of good stuff in it. I say you get that and read the other stories too. Moore is one of the best. Watchmen, V For vendetta, Killing Joke, hes a really great writer. Pick up his book so you can read TKJ and get moore (no pun intended) stories as a bonus.
