I actually wasn't going to start one of these for kingpin since we're pretty much all in agreement of who should play him.

So, if you have another suggestion please go ahead! If not, perhaps we can use this thread to discuss whether he should be the main villain of the daredevil series or better suited as the guy pulling the strings that ultimately leads to the defenders.

I would prefer using bullseye as the main villain for the daredevil series with a couple of other smaller guys to keep things going then save Fisk and his homicidal family for the defenders

Ray mother****ing Winstone.

Dean Norris would be a great Kingpin but he's a little short. Someone else also suggested Val Kilmer in another thread and that would be cool. Although I wouldn't mind if they went with an unknown who was more physically imposing if they had the acting chops for it. But thats a gamble.

Its 2 in the morning and I am bored so I made a manip of Val Kilmer as Kingpin.

I'm sold.

Michael Chiklis, John Goodman, or Ray Winstone.

But if you wanted to go the fat-suit route, Kevin Durand is the man.

Left-field casting: Glenn Jacobs aka Kane.

I saw someone in another thread suggest Glenn Fleshler from True Detective and Boardwalk Empire as Kingpin which I thought was a great choice.

deemphasize "fat" kingpin, just make him tall and muscular with a broad build. Padding can make him a little 'bulkier', but remember he's supposed to be someone who can move faster than most assume, and is an excellent hand to hand fighter.

That was my theory as well. Comic books exaggerate everything. He was a big guy that's strong, unimaginably tough and a better fighter than most think. They took big really far and made him insanely obese. That's not necessary.

That's why I picked Kevin Durand. Get him to bulk up, thicken his body mass, and you've got him.

Kevin Durand all the way

I like that choice. Durand is a decent actor, with a great intimidating physical presence.

However I can't help but feel they have already cast Kingpin in the form of Vin Diesel.
Did Marvel really just cast him to play Groot, or did they throw an extra role into his contract. I hear he expressed interest in playing Kingpin in the past too, and cable TV shows are shot like movies so it won't interfere with his movie career much.

No way is Vin Diesel only playing Groot. I think that's basically universally agreed on. But I don't think he'll be Kingpin, personally. Not saying it's impossible, but I think he's more in line for a role like Black Bolt. I could even see Thanos more, to be honest.

I'd love to see John Goodman.

I mean, yeah, he doesn't exactly fit the muscle-y and athletic fat guy look that The Kingpin normally has, but damn if he wouldn't give an amazing performance.

Goodman would be interesting for sure.

Stephen Graham plays one helluva Al Capone on "Boardwalk Empire." He was also Baby Face Nelson in "Public Enemies."

^Too small

Glenn Fleshler is BY FAR the best choice for this!!!

Glenn Fleshler is small too. They used camera tricks to make him look bigger on True Detective. He can't be any bigger than 5'10.

But Fleshler has the right body for Kingpin. That guy is way too skinny. Thats what I meant by small. His body does not fit Kingpin. and he doen't even really look like the character aside from being bald

Oh and Dean Norris is great but very wrong for Kingpin

What if they changed his race like the 2003 film did with Michael Clark Duncan? I would suggest these actors.

Ving Rhames:

Terry Crews:

Dennis Haysbert (who replaces MCD as Manute in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For"):

John Goodman would be almost perfect but perhaps too old now?

Goodman is an awesome actor, only trouble is I don't think they could sell him as someone physically threatening, but if they go for more a mob style boss this is the man.

Tom Hardy if he got back to looking like he did in Bronson could be perfect.

Otherwise Dean Norris would be great need to see Hank again haha

Lol. Goodman is a gramps. He cant pass for Fisk.

If they do Bullseye as the main villain I wouldn't be surprised if they went for an older actor someone who you can tell would have been a threat in his time but more of just a leader now.
