BATB's teaser ran 1:30 and only showed a rose and Bell's face and it came out 10 months before the release. Not a year.

Meanwhile Legendary released a full Kong trailer eight months before the release that runs over two minutes long and has multiple shots of Kong, shows action, the island, the characters, and gives plot details.

We have seen a lot more from Kong's marketing than we have BATB's marketing.

Beauty and the Beast only showed Belle and the castle. If we put them time frame side by side, we've seen a heck of a lot more from Kong: Skull Island than we have from Beauty and the Beast. Plus, they're still hiding their beast completely whereas Kong actually shows him from a distance at least. So if the two are to be compared, Kong showed a lot more sooner than Beauty and the Beast.
