Kong: Skull Island - Part 1

As am I. Jackson's was too close to a normal gorilla anyway. This movie's Kong is going back to the original idea of him being an ape "like" creature not a full-on quadruple Silverback

Yea, I'm glad too he's more '33 and '76-kongish than 2005-kongish. :woot:

Brie Larson is life.

If this turns out like Godzilla I'll be happy. I was into Godzilla for the monster. I don't need super deep character arcs for films like these.

Ehhhhh.

The movie gave us an amazing Bryan Cranston to start the film then he dies and everything else thereafter was the acting equivalent of a piece of dried out timber. It makes a difference. I know for myself I started tuning out after how hollow the rest of the characters were and silly plot conveniences/contrivances.

This movie feels like it's going to flop. An amazing cast though. Tom Hiddleston looking very orange.

That's fine I get it. But like I said for myself, with a monster movie like that I don't need crazy good acting or developed characters. Doesn't make a difference for me. Cranston was great. And after he was gone I was like ok whatevs. Give me more Zilla and I got what I wanted.

Yeah, Kong is not a normal ape. He is a little higher on the evolutionary chain.

I like good movies. That is all I want. I don't need super deep characters, I need not to be bored for two thirds of the film, because the only thing worth watching is the monsters hitting each other. Pacific Rim didn't have the best characters, but they actors charisma and mystery engaged me.

Hey fair enough just stating my thoughts as well haha. I know people didn't enjoy Godzilla, and some did. It is what it is. Hopefully you'll enjoy this film.

Looks great, just like the Godzilla trailers. Which is why I am going to be cautious. Those trailers blew me away, but the film ended up weak.

I really liked Godzilla. Just got mad Cranston died so damn soon. I'm scared that Jackson or Goodman are going to die in the first 20 minutes again.

Love the cast, but I'm disappointed with the presentation of Skull Island and the snippets we see of Kong.

They actually made it look like Jackson is the lead here. I thought that was Hiddleston.

Jackson is gonna die Deep Blue Sea style. Kong just gonna jump up out of nowhere and grab him in the middle of a powerful speech :o

Did Cranston not look like the lead in Godzilla?

I don't mind him dying, but he better not go out in the first act.

I get you Broseph44, and I am not trying to come at you. I just felt the need to explain my thoughts fully. If you say something like that, some like to think that you are only looking for an Oscar-caliber film, and you think everything else isn't worth the time.

I like Godzilla when Godzilla is on screen. The rest of the time, I was bored.

I have no idea. She and Hiddleston were barely in the trailer.

For sure man I get you. :word:  at lest you like Zilla when he was on screen. Let's see hopefully you like Kong!

Well this just shot up as my most anticipated movie for next year. Or at least top 2 or 3 most anticipated.

The trailer looked great.

This was a good first look and if it's an indication of the film itself then I am actually happy they aren't going for the Beauty And The Beast angle.
I really hope that's the case.

Wow, really impressed by what I saw with this.
