Kramer's A Racist!!!

Some people cant control their anger. Ive said stupid things I didnt mean when I got angry before (one time I got so mad at this kid I started making fun of him cause he was adopted) I doubt he really meant this stuff.

That doesn't mean it should be swept under the rug.

Yeah? Well I'm a Seinfeld fan, even though Kramer wasnt my favorite character (george costanza is) he gets a pass from me! :cmad:

Wilhelm-Scream said:
Is anyone suggesting it should swept under the rug?!? If so, too late.

Boy, sweep that under the rug will you?

That seems to be the implication when people say "Those hecklers were being mean! They deserved it!" and "Everybody says stuff they don't mean. It's no biggie."

If so, too late.

k.

There are pages and pages of crap here, but from what I've seen, people aren't saying they're cool with him saying that, they're objecting to the thread title and some posts which say that Kramer is a racist BECAUSE he said that.

Again, if that makes him a racist, then Jesse Jackson is a racist, but I'll bet you most of the people saying Kramer's a racist dig Jesse just fine. :o

They're defending what he said, when there is no defense for what he said. He was out of line. Period.

so you think these people deserve monetary compensation?

No. I don't know what the law has to say about it, though I doubt it is illegal to call someone the n-word and make a supporting reference to the lynching period in American history.

No, you just quoted "them" and Fred Fury just said up there^, they don't think he really meant it. That's not the same as defending the statement, it's defending the person.
And it's not saying "That wasn't out of line."
It's saying "I don't think he is really a racist just because he flipped out."

They may be wrong, maybe he is a racist. But are you going to sit there and tell me that you've never gotten pissed off and said something and then afterwards felt horrible because you didn't really mean it, but instead, were just trying to hurt the other person as much as you could?

It's not defending the use of the N word, it's defending the person, saying, "I don't think that's sufficient proof to write him off as a racist."

When people are out of control, you truly see who they are. His instinct was racism. Therefore he is a racist.

My goodness, but there are a LOT of finger pointers in this thread....

Look into a mirror before making judgement calls upon others.

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Does the fact that I once wished somebody dead out of anger make me a killer?

Also, by that measure, we're all racists then. Our survival instincts demand it.

I am telling you from experience, you.are.wrong.
So you can either think about it and change your opinion, or you can wilfully persist in being irrationally judgemental and w.r.o.n.g.

For instance, say you are super-pissed at your girlfriend. She has hurt you immensely.
You can go mad with hurt-rage, and, knowing that she is self-conscious of her yellow teeth, make a snide remark about her yellow teeth, even though HONESTLY, in your true, real heart, you think her yellow teeth are cute, adorable, and sexy.

BUT, since you know that that will really "get her", you "lose it" and make a snide remark about how ugly her yellow teeth are, even though you don't really feel that way,...JUST because you know it will hurt her as badly as she hurt you.

Excactly. Anger can bring out some of the worst in an individual.

No killing someone makes you a killer.

Than by that reason, Richards isn't necessarily a racist.

Unless you can show that Richards has a history of saying racial epitaphs, a one time incident should convict a man for life.

That's bad reasoning because she actually HAS yellow teeth. That is fact. These people in the audience are not ******s. He was trying to belittle them with offensive speach.

So killing someone only once doesn't make you a killer? I don't understand your logic.

God, you two have such a narrow, simplistic and wrong-headed view of human behaviour.

Do you have any idea how many of billions of teenaged sons have gone into a rage and said "I HATE you, MOM! I hope you DIE!!!:cmad:x100" 'cause she wouldn't let 'em go to a concert, but in reality they love their Mom more than anyone on Earth and if anything happened to her they'd be devastated?

We have left the Logic Zone.:csad:

No. Killing a person once makes you a killer, but being a racist does take more than a one-time incident out of anger.

Saying things is very easy. Everybody, except you apparently, have said something out of anger, pain, carelessness, or low blood sugar that have hurt somebody.

If saying something out of anger, pain, or carelessness or low blood sugar is enough to convict somebody permanently, than we really are screwed as a species.

*sigh*
I wasn't making a 1:1 analogy.
Fine, then we'll say it's a girlfriend with an eating disorder and a dismorphic body image, so she's 98 pounds, but still fears being fat, so in reality she has %.00004 body-fat, can't get any thinner, and you call her porky, not 'cause she IS, but only because you know that will hurt her specifically.

You're being dumb.

Are you honestly that naive? That you don't believe it's even possible for someone to say something that they don't really mean, when they're under stress or in a vulnerable emotional state?!?

LMAO, gawd
You have a lot to learn about human interaction.

I called my sister a dumb ***** once, but I dont think shes dumb. :o
