EDIT: Time traveling double postage? Awesome

This movie is all that. Great characters, surprisingly good humor, insane action, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Definitely going to get the DVD.

I lurved Shifu. Go see this.:yay:

It was good, but it I was disappointed with how they underused the 5 masters. I know it was about po, I would have liked to have seen more from the other characters.

this sounds like a really good movie, and i've been hearing great things about it... but i just really can't muster up the desire to see it... or, at least to pay for seeing it.

i guess pixar spoiled me. i just don't care for the voice casting in non-pixar movies anymore. too "flavor of the week" for me. and the jokes always seem too contemporary/pop-culturey, whereas pixar's are more timeless.

i'll probably still see this, but maybe in the dollar theater.

I saw it last night .Overall I liked the movie it was Dreamworks best yet. I thought it started slow and was kind of dull but the action picked up when they furious 5 scenes started .I wanted to see more of them in action. I really liked the fight scenes especially the bridge sequence .the jokes weren't that childish either actually a few of the jokes went over the heads of the kids in the audience .I rate it 8.5/10.

Yep, best Dreamworks animated movie yet (and yes, that includes the original Shrek).

Black was awesome and hilarious as expected ("He blinded me with his awesomeness!").

8.5/10

^I love that beginning bit. The art style was superb.

Jack Black in his voice acting shows there is more then his goof ball mtv award histarics. He is one of the best physical comedians going but he can do a Movie like King Kong and with his voice acting and proves he is a good actor if he wants to be.

i saw this last night. i loved it. was a lot funnier than i thought and was great on action. more than just a kid movie.

The way I see it, Jack Black was always a good actor...but in the minds of traditonal filmmaking, people usually won't group together comedy acting in the same plane as dramatic acting. To me, they're on the same level and if not, comedy acting should be even a little bit higher if you ask me.

well yes there is many who think they are funny like Seth Rogen but Black being kicked in the balls by Robert Downey Jr is funnier then any part in Knocked Up.

Speaking of balls, Kung Fu Panda blew my balls OFF! It was AWESOME.

Picture the best episodes of Samurai Jack, plus hilarious lines from JB and the whole cast, plus beautiful character animation.

My favorite character was Master Oogway. The inventor of Kung Fu and hilarious bad-ass.

GO. SEE. THIS. MOVIE.

Shifu: I have bad news, Master!
Oogway: There is only news. There is no good or bad.
Shifu: You were right! Tai Lung has escaped from prison! He's on his way here!
Oogway: .....That is bad news!

:p

I also was thrown off by Po talking to the Furious Five at dinner.
Mantis: Well, what happened after that?
Po: Well, I didn't actually say that, but I thought it...in my mind.
If he could read my mind, he would've been like, "wha??" [then he makes a hilarious face].

That was so funny.

$60 million estimated for Kung Fu Panda over its first weekend. Not too shabby.

Yeah, numbers could be way better. But I guess it will get good legs by the second weekend.

I was suprised at how good this movie was, IMO, it is a really funny movie.

^^^

Indeed. It's one of the best DW animations so far. I gave it 8 out of 10.

The attention to detail for the animations on Master Oogway were amazing. He was constantly in motion. It was great when he helped Shifu at the end too.

I need to see this again, I love when movies surprise me like this. Quality stuff.

....

I really don't understand this thread's hate towards me. Every time I try to post, not only is it a double post, but one that can bend the very fabric of time.

yay?

I thought this movie looked sort of dumb. Not terrible, just...cookie-cutter, you know? After reading reviews and this thread, however, I think I just may see it.

I read Timbaland was supposed to do the soundtrack for this, but his schedule was apparantly full...with Madonna.

I thought the same thing, and based on Dreamworks' typical products over the last few years, that was a legitimate assumption. I'm pleased to say that Kung Fu Panda was much more clever than past Dreamworks offerings.

I still don't take Dreamworks as seriously as Pixar, since Dreamworks always seems more focused on getting mainstream popular celebrities as voice actors instead of being focused on the actual creative plots and dialog, but Kung Fu Panda is a big step in the right direction for them. Perhaps Dreamworks might actually take some of the creative risks that Pixar has at some point.

Yeah but Dustin Hoffman is so awesome... And its wierd its like his animated avatar personifies him in look...
