I don't think so Pyro
Perhaps, but in most cases, the perpetrator MAKES themselves loners. It turns out that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were not mercilessly bullied by other students - they just had a rampant superiority complex and hated the world. From Sodini's online postings, he hated women and used various excuses as to why it was 30 million women's faults he couldn't get a date. I highly doubt that any sane person, when having trouble getting a girlfriend, would blame every single woman in America for it.Sometimes when there's a shooting where the shooter is some sort of outcast, usually in school shootings, there's always that thing where people think "maybe if we got to know these people, we could stop this from happening again".
So how would that go in this situation? So are people, particularly women, going to start talking more to men that are unlucky and unsuccessful when it comes to women just so something like this won't happen?

Cho Seung Hui had a supportive family and it wasn't like people would go out of their way to make fun of him, but would keep himself separated form his classmates. I think nobody can TRULY help people like this, they really have to help themselves. The most we can do is keep firearms out of their hands.
And I don't mind talking to a guy who's nervous and awkward around women. Some nice guys really do have bad luck. However, I don't think I should stick around a guy with anger issues and a "me against the world" attitude just so I can try and make him feel better, though.
Keep in mind, we don't have any viewpoints from the women who came in real-world contact with him. It's very likely he came off as a verifiable creep, not just awkward.
True, but could we at least make it a little more difficult? It's downright embarrassing - in the case of Cho Seung Hui, he had had outpatient psychiatric help which should have disqualified him from buying a gun in the first place. But he managed to get some anyway, simply because he lied on his forms.if someone wants a gun, they'll get one
Reverse the sex, and you pretty much described your typical feminist. However, I don't think I should stick around a guy with anger issues and a "me against the world" attitude just so I can try and make him feel better, though.
Have any feminists shot up innocent civilians recently and blamed men for it?Reverse the sex, and you pretty much described your typical feminist.t:
You'd be surprised, there actually are guys that feel that way; although they wouldn't shoot women.I highly doubt that any sane person, when having trouble getting a girlfriend, would blame every single woman in America for it.

I'm not sure if it's actually against the law to lie on a form like that. I've never purchased a gun.So you would propose laws to keep guns out of the hands of people like this? People that ALREADY break the laws we have in place to get guns? As if they would somehow respect the new laws that we make?

I mean that if we're going to allow people to have guns, some mandatory background check on the buyer should be in order. Sorry to discriminate against the mentally ill, but they really shouldn't have guns.
