Steele apparently has a very poor rep amongst PUA, and is largely discredited within the community. This is well before the Soldini shooting.

No, I always thought that guys went for gray, brown, or black by default, especially if they weren't gay or metro.

It’s being reported by Fox news that L.A. Fitness Center in Bridgeville, a tiny community close to Pittsburgh, is the scene of a multiple murder in a women’s aerobics class. The shooter turned off the lights and began to open fire.

Six people have been shot to death and more than a dozen have been injured. A witness reports she was exercising when a lone gunman entered the Center through the back door, turned off the lights and began firing at people in the Latin dance class.

Allegheny County police report they were notified by phone that someone was shooting in the gym. One witness reported hearing between 10 and 15 shots. The shooter is among the dead.

George Sodini, 48 ,has been identified as the shooter in the Pittsburgh Gym massacre. He killed himself after murdering at least 3 women and injuring numerous others. The dead are Heidi Overmier, 46, of Carnegie; Elizabeth Gannon, 49, of Pittsburgh; and Jody Billingsley, 38, of Mount Lebanon.
It’s alleged that Sodini kept an online journal and blogged about his plans for the killing rampage. His entries also detailed his immense dislike of women, including his mother.
He was also a member of the gym.

Charles Moffatt, Allegheny County police superintendent stated:
“He did what he set out to do, and I think nobody could have stopped him. ”

I think he’s probably right.

Yes, I hate the local news channels around here. They are supposed to report the "news" not rumors. WPXI here in Pittsburgh kept saying she was killed and they were also going on about how that it was a love triangle that went bad. I usually watch KDKA but I was waiting for the news coverage to end so I could watch Conan.

Sometimes when there's a shooting where the shooter is some sort of outcast, usually in school shootings, there's always that thing where people think "maybe if we got to know these people, we could stop this from happening again".

So how would that go in this situation? So are people, particularly women, going to start talking more to men that are unlucky and unsuccessful when it comes to women just so something like this won't happen?
