Finished Golden Butterfly and I feel like I got the right guy... Spoilers if you haven't beaten it I guess...

I chose Rooney as it just seemed TO obvious that the "husband" did it... also, it seemed like the initials were "sprayed" on if you will, not sewn in like normal initials are in overalls... more so during that time.

Plus Rooney was an absolute creep. He was evil to the core.

Even though I didn't feel like he did it, Greg Gunberg deserved it so I said he was the murderer and that was definitely the wrong decision, I got yelled at hardcore by the chief

@ Benstamania

With the initials thing, if you asked the right question, Rooney actually worked at a job for a while (forget the name) but it's initials were 'HM' and that was actually his uniform.

Just made homicide.

The finale to the Traffic desk was pretty good. Didn't expect it to get all action film-like there. I liked it.

Holy smokes! I just realized there's 95 different cars in the game. I'm nearing the end and I've only been in 13 of them.

I got two questions wrong so that must have been one of them.

Also, does anyone know what Ad Vice originally stood for? I mean i know Vice cases deal with organized crime, but where did Ad Vice come from?
I think the "Ad" stood for the many crimes Vice prosecuted for. Gaming, bookmaking, corruption, organized crime, pornography, prostitution, and narcotics. Now they have separate departments for organized crime and narcotics. Other divisions, like the Anti terrorist Division evolved from Public Disorder Intelligence Division in 1970, got rolled into Organized Crime and Vice Divisions for consolidation. All of them are under the Intelligence section of the LAPD.

Just finished the story.

I was kinda hoping for more there at the end. It didn't really bother me as much that Cole died like it did when John died in RDR, and I think this game sort of fell some where in between RDR and GTA storywise. Especially with the character switch, though I think it might've been better if they had done it earlier, if not from the start, and sort of have a branching story that came together at the end.

I kinda wish the war stories didn't have that weird effect to them so that it could've been easier to tell who was saying what. It kinda turned me off to all of it halfway through. But all in all, it was a pretty solid game, and I can't wait to start doing all the side stuff. Can't wait for the PS store too be back up to see what kind of DLC they'll have.

lol I did pretty bad on the case before and I hate my new partner so I did this for 5 mins

hahhah I thought he'd never die.

So I'm replaying the missions again to get 5 star ratings, and one thing i didn't notice the first time was
how connected all of the newspaper article are with the overall arc of the story. I didn't realize how much it set things up throughout because I didn't really pay attention to them.

Finally starting on this tonight because I decided Fallout: New Vegas is too buggy to warrant anymore of my attention. :o

Gotta say, visiting the crime scene for my first Homicide case was...well, that was one scene not made for basic cable TV. The gap in time clearly shows what was cut. Hopefully we'll get those in DLC.

The first traffic case is pretty gruesome itself. I'm sitting there thinking I'm just gonna go have a nice, easy first case about some stolen car, but no, it's a car with the inside literally covered in blood. :funny:

So far I'm enjoying this game a lot, I really like the mood/environment though I'm not near as far as most on here lol I hope to remedy that this weekend.

Yeah, that thing was just a bloodbath.

Btw...I'm at the interrogation process for the "Golden Butterfly" case, and I'm pretty sure they've positioned me with a moral choice there. It's not so subtle, since Galloway just outright tells you.

I really enjoyed watching an in-game scene take place, when I went to the Bamba Club and went on to speak with a POI, Galloway took a seat a drank whiskey. For free. Really liking the constant back and forth with Galloway and Phelps. Really getting a better picture as to the type of man Cole is through all that.

Heh, wait until you get to the end of that case and figure out what that blood is really all about :p

It was still pretty grusome to think of, even by the end of the case...

Just finished the game, clocked in right at 20 hours, altho i didnt find any film reels, only found one badge and found only like 19 of the hidden cars.

Overall, great game, but i felt the highpoint of the game ended after you completed the Homicide desk. The game seemed to trail off after that point. Really didnt care for the final few hours.

I deff hope to see more games like this. I loved the gameplay of reviewing a crime scene, finding clues and interrogating witnesses.

Glad to hear its a 20 hour game, and that does not include all the side stuff. Looks like I got my hands full this weekend.

I think Vice should have been done before Homicide. It should have gone Traffic, Vice, Homicide, Arson. The last case in Homicide was great.

I really, reeeeally like the game... However it feels to me that it's going to be another "Heavy Rain." What do I mean by that? A game I really enjoy that I only ever play through once regardless of DLC.

Homicide probably should have been the end point. I don't know much about the real order a cop is promoted, but things like investigating fraud or drugs never seem as serious (or fun to watch), to me, as investigating a serial killer.

I am almost done the Homicide desk and I agree it has been great so far. Hearing that it slides a little after is a bit of a bummer, but I'm still crazy exciting to keep going.

Yeah, I too didn't quite understand the way they transitioned from homicide to vice. I know part of was because Vice requested for Cole specifically, but I didn't think it really worked that way.
