i don't exactly make it a habit to watch rap videos, or any music videos really, but they've never really bothered me that much, or made me feel gay.

i don't really find it that degrading either, because as long as it's in the free will of a woman to want to do objectify herself in that way, then it's her choice. it doesn't affect my ability to pursue any other more respectful lines of work.

seeing women like that puts unrealisic expectations in peoples minds. We're never going to be that skinny, our faces will never be perfectly symmetrical, not many can get their legs up that high and it suggests women are easy.

supermodels and famous actresses put unrealistic expectations into peoples' minds.

the PCDs are dancers. ballet dancers and figure skaters should probably stop what they're doing too?

rap video girls have big T&A, thick thighs, and are covered in bronzer.

and some women are easy. again. it's their choice, imo.

^^ we need more chicks like triplefive.
-chicks, +women. :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

and it's not to say i don't have a problem with "hip hop" culture itself and the "*****ez and hoez". men write those lyrics, not women. but if the women in the videos want do shake their well-shaped asses, then it's their call, imo. i'm just not compelled to go out and do it myself.

i love videos from the ***** cat dolls. they have what they got and they aren't afraid to flaunt it. i love women who aren't afraid of their sexuality. you embrace it. women's bodies are beautiful. and i can be straight and say that :o.

but uncut vids on bet are kind of hilarious to look at. some go overboard it's funny.some guy raps and this one chick slaps on a g-string and shakes it for 5 minutes. that's the vid. seriously i'm not joking. look for the un-cut vid for disco inferno.

I'm not a fan of music videos in general.

Once the song becomes about what it *looks* like, what the song *sounds* like is trivialized. Which I guess is why so many carbon-copy Thug Life wannabes can get away with such idiotic lyrics; the audience is too distracted by the visuals.

I don't really watch music videos anymore or even listen to rap, for that matter. Most of it is just total crap about drugs and gangs and ****. There's far better stuff to listen to, not all of it is awful though. There's still some good stuff out there, its just more rare now. Though, I guess it is kind of degrading, portraying all women as ****es or gold diggers. But whatever, I don't really care.

MTV is the antichrist.
They even ruined Pimp My Ride.

How do you ruin that premise?
But no, they put tvs on some guy's mudflaps. Who the hell is going to watch that?

I don't tend to watch rap videos. I'm a rock & pop kind o' gal. However, even some of the Heavy Metal rock videos can make you feel uncomfortable. I just do my best to imitate the moves. ;)

I feel stupid when I watch them.

And reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaally white.
lol me too, don't worry.

I noticed something the other day. An endless amount of rap songs put out there by guys say something about getting someone to suck it. Then Fergie comes out with Fergalicious and they bleep out when she says "the boys wanna eat it".

I don't get the double standard?

I also think that what we perceive as disrespect towards the women in the rap videos is just how women are treated in the hip-hop/urban culture. It's their choice.

It's like they ran out of cool stuff to do, so now they do really asinine things that just make the whole show stupid. :down

Rock music from 80's is how rap music is now. Decadant, party lifestyle, hoes everywhere.
