Lana in Gotham

I thought that was season 2 or 3? With...Lex's nightmare about him destroying the world.

It was actually season 4 and the episode was Scared. Half the residence in the town of Smallville have come down with a condition that makes them dream their worse nightmare. Lex injects himself with a potential cure, and he dreams of himself destroying the world. The shot they show is a mixture of the Season 1 episode Hourglass where Cassandra sees Lex's future as President and destroyer of the world and there is also a scene from Terminator 3 where the nuclear missles have been launched.

Thats the one, thanks. I was thinking of Hourglass, but I forgot the footage was used again in 4.

This is how I feel about the Lana in Gotham situation. Here's what I posted at DeKight's blog:

"Loved this episode, but this question is for SDK. It's about the exterior shot of The Narrows from Batman Begins that opened Act One. I know for the continuity of the show, it was meant to be an establishing shot of Metropolis, but why use an exterior from Batman Begins? Knowing some fans would pick up on it, I wish you would've just left it ambiguous so us Bat-fans could go on believing that Lana flew to Gotham to meet up w/ the scientist -- unfortunately, through dialogue, cutaways to a Kansas license plate and Jimmy, you snuffed that out for us :-( --

So my question is: why use a shot that's so obviously Gotham City and not let it actually BE Gotham? (Heck, the city was FINALLY name dropped in Reunion!) If you were going to use file footage from the movies, couldn't you have used exteriors from Superman Returns? (Or a random shot of Vancouver for that matter?)

Point is, I was ecstatic when I saw the Narrows on Smallville. Then became crushed when I realized you were just passing it off as Metropolis..."

I'm still disappointed Metropolis is in Kansas. :(
