Laptop or PC? for CC :)

i don't really care about gaming, but it seems like those type of laptops have more of the features i want. or a workstation?

i want 2TB SSD, at least 32GB ram. prob a 14 or 16" screen. a little heavier build doesn't bother me if it's made well and sturdy. i want this to last a long while, so i'm willing to pay a little more. trying to stay under $3K, ideally in the $1500-$2500 area.
i'm less versed on graphics cards/gpus etc.
i'd like at least 8GB memory so it doesn't lag
i like to run multiple programs at once. will be my everyday web browser, but i also do excel spreadsheets, photoshop, indesign, some family tree softwares, trying to learn a little more about 3d printing as i have a printer that's collecting dust, cricut/canva type apps, listen to music. want to learn how to edit videos, not for content creation or influencing, but editing home movies.
i've been converting vhs to dvds and would like to edit them better as a few people i know have expressed interest in that and it could be a little side hustle for me lol

i dont want a chromebook or anything like that. or a tablet/2 in 1.
touch screen doesn't matter to me.

MacBook Pro may be what you need. The Windows equivalents are your Lenovo Thinkpad X1, Dell XPS, HP Spectre. Just make sure they have a dedicated graphics card on the Windows laptops. I would recommend Surface Studio Laptop if Microsoft didn't nickel and dime you with accessories.

also, i am not sure i'm ready to switch to mac. i have an ipad and i don't love the interface. i'd want to play around or "test drive" a mac before i committed

The software you mention doesn't rely much on VRAM but on system RAM so 32GB RAM will suffice. 3D printing isn't heavy on GPU usage as far as I know so 8GB VRAM should be enough unless you're also doing 3D modelling/rendering with AutoCAD, Blender and whatnot.

So you edit video in 480p? I thought you were doing 4K... In that case, 2TB of storage is plenty enough for that kind of resolution.

480p lol. not every video i have is that, i have some 720s and 2k and 4k! haha. working my way up
i found a bunch of 8mm cleaning up after daddy passed in June too. would like to convert them or get them converted to share.
