Left 4 Dead 2

I'm a little upset about them not releasing more campaigns for the first game but having said that I'll probably end up picking this one up because it sounds like some of the additions and leaps will make the game more enjoyable.

Eh, I don't mind that they haven't released more for L4D. I fully intend to play both L4D1 and L4D2, depending on my mood.

Yeah It makes me upset to that their not gonna release anymore campaigns for the first game,But I cant wait for the second game.

I can understand the animosity toward Valve for no more update for L4D1 but seriously guys think about all the new stuff that will be in part 2. We're gonna actually fight zombies in a mall Dawn of the Dead style! That alone should hype up any zombie fan.

Thats true fighting in a mall is gonna be awesome,But a campaign that would be sweet is a carnival.

Left 4 Dead 2 looks pretty awesome.

Count me in, Valve.

I think the animosity towards Valve on this is misplaced.

They're all babies who will buy the game anyway. The G4 people even said it was great & that everyone should stop complaining.

There's a rumor about maybe some LEFT 4 DEAD compatability...which could settle down the "angry mobs" I would imagine.

What, like it could combine with L4D to make one mega-game where everything from both games is made available across both? Effectively making it Left 4 Dead with a slew of new maps, weapons, and enemies? I don't see that appeasing anyone, given that that's what the naysayers wanted for free in the first place.

I believe the rumor, or hope, is that you can maybe play the campaign maps from L4D on 2, with the characters getting thrown in the mix.

Something like guitar hero or rock band, I've read.

It won't make everyone happy, and probably piss other people off. But, it might be some kind of bone to toss at people.

And it might be pretty cool.

I'm good with whatever Valve does for L4D2. Charging a full $60 for L4D or L4D2 is a bit much, but I plan to wait for a sale on Steam for L4D2 anyway.

There making new campaign(s) for L4D1, it should be out before L4D2.

I'd pay for it, but I doubt they will because the poor people who are boycotting L4D2, will boycott the DLC too.
"WHAT!? Pay for something that cost money to be made!? What kind of madmen are you!?"

Too bad because I'd like some achievements with the DLC.

Oh, well, the DLC should be free. Valve tends to do free DLC anyway because they realize that the more they add to the game, the more people will buy the full game to play it. They don't really nickle-and-dime people over DLC.

That's part of why people are so pissed about L4D2: they see it as DLC that the Valve of years past, before they became a juggernaut within the gaming industry, would've released for free. Personally, as a longtime fan of Valve, I believe them when they say L4D2 has enough content to justify itself as a full game on its own, but that's not good enough for the boycotters.

It's just so strange, too.

Because boycotters should take the fight to other games. Valve is pretty much a gamer-friendly company.

Whereas you can easily find another five companies are a total ***** with the fans. But, I never hear of "massive boycott anger uprise" towards them.

Yeah. I think it's because Valve has a reputation for being gamer-friendly, and also because Valve is a PC-centric company. Most of the companies that screw people over are console-centric, so people expect to get that kind of stuff. The PC industry has always been a little friendlier to consumers. DLC and patches and updates and such have always been free for a lot of PC-centric companies. I remember back when Bethesda released Oblivion's DLC for a price, people were pissed--myself included. So now people assume that Valve is selling out by abandoning L4D1 and making a cash-grab with L4D2. But personally, I don't think they'll stop releasing DLC for L4D1 either. I think they'll release new content periodically for L4D, L4D2, and TF2, just like they've done for all their products/officially sponsored mods.

Yeah, really there's a new COD released every year, with DLC that you have to pay for. It's usually 1-2 per game (WAW is getting lucky with a third coming soon) & usually the next game doesn't add much to the series (except COD4 which changed alot). But they botcott L4D2, just because it isn't free DLC.

I just find this whole boycott funny because you know the asses that are *****ing the loudest will the the ones to praise L4D2 the most once its' released.

Whether they praise it or not, you know the 360 version, at least, is gonna sell like hot cakes. The PC boycotters will probably find some way to pirate it because they're a**holes, but I imagine Valve will be on the ball and boot them/lock their Steam accounts eventually.

And I will laugh. Oh, how I will laugh.

oh I'll be laughing my undead ass off aswell. I'm really looking forward to finding out more info on the new special infected.

I'm wondering how many there'll be. So far we only know of the hillbilly Tank and the roaming Witch, right?

From what I heard there will be three new special infected (counting the charger/hillbilly tank). The Hunter, Smoker, Boomer, Tank, and Witch (now with roaming) will still be in. I'm hoping that this means there will be more than just four player controlled infected running around in versus.
