Legalized Polygamy?

The head scratcher:
If you go by any kind of Estimates after 2005 or so,.. they all claim there are more men than women.

If you go by the Dating stats even today,... the women hevily outweigh the men.

Then there are the Stories from every major country stating that there is a man shortage.

So where the heck are all these men that are supposed to be outnumbering women? And how come the number increasesas we age?

This is turning into a sausage fest on Earth.

7:1?

http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/broker

As of 2009 (Worldwide Population):

MEN: 3,407,012,960
WOMEN: 3,361,154,752

Where in god's name do you get your numbers?
not going to argue about it,... if I'm wrong I accept it,... but ask the same questions. where are all these men?
(just posted two articles where COUNTRIES are considering polygamy because there are not enough men to go around.)

BTW i'm thinking i should know better,.. the ONLY 7:1 ratio I could find was on wiki.

In regards to the obvious bad reasons why Polygamy is "against the law":
1. Some believe that it reduces women to "property."
2. Some believe that it forces women to compete for the attentions of one man.
3. Some believe it makes for a poor child raising enviroment.
4. Some believe that is a "Musilumication" (Made up word) that is the foot in the door for that faith to take over the world.

I don't agree with any of it because I've seen that it works in other places w/o any of these issues.

Theoretically, what's to stop a woman from marrying multiple men?

There are a variety of genetic factors that are responsible for women to be more common among those born. That could explain the high percentages in particular regions of the world, though there are other, pre- and post-zygotic factors involved in the ratio regionally as well as worldwide.

Nothing.
There is supposed to be a people in South America where it is common for women to have two husbands,...

I only saw one (the one pertaining to Russia), and it explains where those men are: dead. :oldrazz:

I just know from experience that polygamy often causes many problems including jealousy, hatred, and betrayal among other things.

 You take that out of your sig right now! You are taking that out of context!

What's wrong with taking something out of context?

I never knew katie was into that type of thing :wow:

Oh, there are a lot of things that people don't know about me. :p

You know you sorta have a point. Girls like guys who are hooked up. Polygamy would up the ante of cattiness. This is why some guys strategically get winggirls to capitalize on this.

Hmmmm I do not believe you could truly be into more than one person. The more wives the more you need to split you time down.

A Lonely Geek here started it becuase he read somewhere that there were millions of lonely single russian women who will never be married because there are not enough men.
That's why Svetlana is on a Russian mail order bride website.

And the green card is a bonus

So,...
In Southern California TODAY:

I go to the Beach - More women in sight than men.
I go downtown - More women with Daughters in tow than men and boys.
I drive past a park - More ewomen walking dogs and sitting on blankets.
I Go to brunch @ Ihop with my son,... Most of the family gatherings/groupings are women with children.
I go to two churches - the majority of the congregation are women.
Friday I dropped my son off @ the local college - Mostly young women walking around.

I ask again in all seriousness,... If Men out number women,... where are all the men? Did I miss a memo and don't know about the Bunker we all retire to to spend most of our time?
