I hate to break it to you guys, Oldman was probably kidding. Well, here's the article from Cinemablend.com. Go ahead and take a look into it and read it.
We can keep pretending that the rumors about the third installment in Christopher Nolans Batman series are holding us over, but lets just be honest with ourselves; were aching for real news. Not announcements from Michael Caine. Not tired casting rumors about Angelina Jolie and Miley Cyrus. Not conspiracy theories about how David Goyer and Nolan are halfway done with a script. Those are just nasty potato chips holding us over for a real meal.
Well, has the closest weve gotten to steak and potatoes from the most credible source possible: David Goyer. When asked about the status of a new Batman Goyer stated that, Right now, Chris is involved in filming Inception. He continued, When he finishes that, he will turn his studious gaze back to the Bat universe and we'll see.
Based on the evidence thats been handed to us (Nolans work ethic on previous how long it took to get The Dark Knight after Batman Begins), this seems like the most believable news possible. Unlike dudes like Michael Bay who start work on a sequel to a blockbuster before the first movie is even released, Nolan is the kind of director who needs time to distance himself from a project. This benefits us as viewers because it gives Nolan enough time to figure out exactly what to do with a sequel. something better than The Dark Knight. Yeah I know. My head just blew up too.

Batman 3 is not going into any kind of production, including pre-production next year
I hate to see I told you so, but...Gary Oldman has already reversed field on his Comic Con proclamation that a third Batman movie would film next year. Somehow lost in all the hoopla of Oldman announcing that in San Diego was his statement the next day: "Well, I'm sure they want to do another one...it might be two or three years."
The reason, we reasoned, was that Christopher Nolan was working on Inception, a $200 million sci-fi movie due out next July. So nothing at all could happen until several months after that, because Nolan probably wouldn't want to work back-to-back.
Enter David Goyer, the third member of the current Batman creative team, along with the two Nolan brothers. "Right now, Chris is involved in filming Inception," Goyer told MTV, for what seems like the umpteenth time. "When he finishes that, he will turn his studious gaze back to the Bat universe and we'll see."
Goyer had mentioned earlier that he and Nolan have had discussions about the third Batman flick, but nothing was set in stone. And that's where I imagine we still are - a few possible storylines and villain options that the Nolans and Goyer can chew on for a while.
But it's not happening next year, and contrary to the other ******** rumors about the most rumored movie ever, I'll bet you a dozen of anything that Miley Cyrus won't play Batgirl.

The Rumor of Miley Cyrus Additioning for Bat-Girl
First of all, is it legit to even confirm that bat-girl has been announced yet as a character for Batman 3? If we don't and won't get Robin in a Nolan-directed bat-film, then what are the chances of us getting bat-girl? Out of all people, what makes her think she will win this audition? She's a disney channel star, for Hannah Montana? Bad actress who can't and has yet to star in any movie. Wouldn't want her for this film, messing up for first role in a film, especially a bat-film at that.
The report originated from The Globe who claims an insider told them, "She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself. The problem is, some people aren't really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it of."
Better yet, apparently Miley donned a full on Batgirl suit for this audition. Obviously her reps have no comment on the report.
This gem comes on the heels of Gary Oldman letting slip during Comic-Con that Christopher Nolan would begin shooting Batman 3 next year with a 2011 release. Then Oldman retracted his comments leaving us all as clueless as a few weeks ago.
The irony of all these rumors is Nolan is completely tied up in shooting his new film Inception. Batman 3 is probably the last thing on his mind at the moment.
As much as Miley has already professed a desire to leave her tween years behind and enter adulthood, jumping from Hannah Montana to Nolan's Batman universe seems like a bit of a stretch. Do you all agree? Chime in below.

Oldman Jumped The Gun
A few days ago Gary Oldman, while on The Book of Eli panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, let a rather big piece of news slip: that the sequel to The Dark Knight, which is being referred to as Batman 3 (until titled otherwise) would be shooting next year.
However, later Mr. Oldman recanted his rather brash and out-of-left-field statement when he told Aint It Cool News, Well, Im sure they want to do another one it might [be] 2 or 3 years
If what Oldman said was true, and assuming he didnt mean the very end of the year, that would mean Batman 3 would start shooting just as Christopher Nolan was getting done with Inception, and right about the time that movie was getting its release next July. Nolan isnt the type of directors to rush (hes only directed 7 movies to date if you include Inception
