Nolan, Goyer Talk Sequel
Author: Jett
Thursday, May 4, 2006 - 5:50 AM CENTRAL TIME: Chris Nolan and David Goyer were both on hand for the recent Saturn Awards (see yesterday's update) and talked a little BEGINS sequel to IESB.NET. Nolan and Goyer confirmed that they've come up with a good story for the next Bat-film. Besides that, they were very vague -- In fact, Nolan "jokingly" warned Goyer not to say a thing.
There has been a bit of speculation that Goyer wouldn't have anything to do with The Sequel since Nolan's brother Jonah is writing the screenplay. However, BOF has said not to read too much into that and Goyer would be involved (The story is based on an outline by both Goyer and Nolan).
Click on the link to check out the video interview. Thanks to "Kenneth" for the lead...

According to ASKMEN.COM, the BATMAN BEGINS sequel is the 9th most anticipated upcoming movie sequel. Thanks to "Farrah" for sending the story... This just in: the BATMAN BEGINS sequel is ranked as the #1 most anticipated sequel by BATMAN ON FILM.

Check out the video, there's not much said, but it gives us an idea of where we're at with the sequel. Hopefully as soon as post-production is done on Prestige (which looks like an awesome movie) we'll start to see more news on Batman.

Well, at least we're getting somewhere.

I'm glad Goyer is still involved in the project

Yeah, me too. Of the two he's probably the one with the most knowledge of the comics, so he'll kame sure that things aren't changed too much.
Somebody on the board mentioned that he held back Nolan a few times with Begins because he was straying a bit from the comics, but I don't know if that's true or not.

Something that interested me from that video was what Nolan said at the end. He said he hadn't even thought much about casting (in reply to being asked about Josh Lucas). I wonder if that's true, or if he was just trying to avoid talking about the sequel.

Well he is making non-Batman film so I knew that he would say that when the reporter asked about Batman sequel.

It's great to hear that they're working on it and they have it on their mind. And it made me laugh. Goyer looked like a six-year old child on a game show.

An exicting story, eh? Sounds interesting.

Here's hoping for an awesome Flash movie.

I'll throw a penny in the well, too. Goyer has the talent, let's just hope that he doesn't take the feel of Blade III and put it into Flash.

Yeah, Goyer is still very much involved. They have a story, now they´re waiting for Nolan to finish The Prestige. He should get fully involved with the sequel come late summer or early fall.

I bet he was just saying that. There have been reports that during the lunch breaks on the Prestige that he has sat down with Bale and Caine a number of times discussing BB2. So, I am sure he has thought about it, but he probably won't really focus on it until after the Prestige.

So Goyer is still on board? IMO that's good news. I think he helps keep it grounded in the comics while Nolan provides the fresh ideas. But does this mean Nolan's brother is out?

Goyer said "we all involved" that means Nolan's brother will be in it as well

Great news. Good to hear Goyer still involve with this. I know many call him a hack, but they're forgetting he is one of the big factor in making Batman movie good again with BB & making it the best Batman movie (so far for now). And the fact he try to make sure Nolan don't stray too far from the comic. Can't wait to hear what the plot going to be for BB 2. :)

Never thought Goyer would miss a chance to be involved with a Batman movie (which is said was always a childhood dream).

2 Nolan's and a Goyer. A winning combination for the sequel!

Oh I'm so eager to hear his one-liners for the sequel.

Batman: "Alright, enough joking around."
Batman: "Looks like the joke's on you."

ROTF.

Yes!
Looks like this sequel will be even better than BB, IMO.

Great news. I'm honestly glad to see that Goyer is still around the film's progression even though Nolan's brother is currently writing the screen play. After Prestige is near completion, we should be getting alot more on what the film will have. This update and the "good story" hint is enough, for now. So far, the sequel is heading in the right direction.

Those were Bale's words.

Ah **** what the hell is Goyer still doing hanging around.

Prestige has wrapped, btw.

He's buying a stairway to heaven.

After seeing that, my blood pressure has gone down. lol. Nice to see Goyer knows a LOT about whats going on, which is why I assume Nolan was yelling from the background "Don't tell them anything!".

Flash movie = oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. If anyone can write those one liners.......it's Goyer. And reynolds as Flash = Always my pick.

But is it just me, or did Goyer look, oh idk, pissed about something?
