"Whether it’s that Chris Nolan has signed on, and will start pre-production early next year, or that Johnny Depp and Philip Seymour Hoffman will play the villains, or that Cher (Cher!) is lining up to wear Catwoman’s claws, there’s one thing that each and every supposed scoop has in common, “Batman Begins” and “Dark Knight” storyman David Goyer told MTV News:

“It’s all B.S.,” he said. “ALL of it.”

That means, no, Nolan has not signed on (yet). No, there is no casting, let alone TALK, of villains, and, no, nobody is certain to return.

“Chris and I haven’t even talked about it. He quite understandably is taking a long, long vacation and wants to purge himself,” Goyer said.

I believe him. The friggin movie just left theaters a couple of weeks ago, it's way too early for anything to be set in stone, at this point it's all speculation and rumor.

Chris Nolan or David Goyer don't have to make another Batman movie for me and I still will give them all the praise in the world for what they've done in how they brought the greatest interpertation of my favortie heroe to the big screen.

Having said that...

Enjoy your vacation guys, take your time, and then come back and make the 3rd installment so that we can have the perfect trilogy of your Batman movies.

Read this at BOF News section, we fans knew this but it's nice to talk about rumours especially there is nothing official.

hey I have an idea! David Goyer should direct the third one! That'll be a sure way to turn it into a classic![/if by classic I mean shimmering turd]

I hope you're joking!:hehe:

Don't worry Face. I'm eccentric, but still quite sane.

Anybody that can add 2 and 2 together dont need to hear from Goyer that its BS.

aw...it was nice to dream though.

I will now be shoving this in the face of anyone else who believes any of these asinine rumors.

Cher as Catwoman?....i dont think so.
People actually believed she was cast. I think someone suggested Michelle Pfeiffer somewhere and someone else said she was too old. So that person said 'if Cher is not too old how is Michelle?'.

Um, no. That pre-production on the third would actually begin in 2009. This article doesn't mention it but Goyer also debunked the February 2009 pre-production rumour.

They are both not in fitting with the series. Get over it people. Let Nolan do his work. It'll probably be someone way outta left field just like Heath was. That is if Catwoman is even casted.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise. Legitimate information about a sequel to a film that is still in theaters almost never happens. I don't expect to hear anything solid about BB3 until early 09.

Does that mean Cher won't be Catwoman ? Damn !

thank god. i mean i didnt take anything seriously especially i never believe anything until i hear that the director is signed and ready to go. cher? come on people whoever bought this crap needs to stick their head in a dark hole and smell their own product

Goyer could easily be the Schumacher of this franchise.

I know it's already been posted on the site, but Paul Levitz (President, DC comics) recently commented briefly on upcoming movies;

At that point my instincts kicked in and I continued with the questions. “What about Batman 3? You guys must be going crazy over the success of that film.” Paul pulls the cocktail shrimp from his mouth just enough to see him smile. I asked when were they going to get this Superman reboot done and he gave me a look like he was about to tell me the answers to the mysteries of the world. “Everyone is waiting for Nolan to sign on for another Batman, once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow.”

So all depends on Nolan? even the Superman reboot?

Sure. I mean, they want another 'money rush' before taking another risk.
