They are the absolute best. They produce heat from the exothermic oxidation of iron when exposed to air. They are activated by being exposed to air. Open the package and move it around and in a few minutes youve got a nice and toasty hand warmer that will last 8 - 10 hours.They make hand warmers, body warners, and the foot warmers.
I work outside year round and have been using them for years. I keep one in each front pocket of my coat. When my hands get cold I just put my hands in my pockets and warm them up.
 
In all honesty those figures make it look like this is a product for crazed murderers that use large blunt objects and street walking prostitutes.
