I can't remember if it was the novel "Bloodline" or something else, but there was a novel that made mention of how Saw's actions were so brutal in their attacks that the Empire was actually able to create a fairly decent propaganda campaign against the Rebel Alliance purely out of depicting the Partisans as bloodthirsty anarchists.

Lost Stars and Bloodlines go into that stuff some. I can't remember if they mention Saw by name but the propaganda stuff was mentioned and we got to see what the average Joe imperial and the New Republic senators thought of the Rebellion's tactics and some really did see the Rebels as violent terrorists and extremists. It's safe to say Saw probably wasn't helping the Rebellion's PR.

I did a quick google search, it was Bloodline where they bring up Saw. Even decades after his time they were still talking about him and the partisans in a negative light...

Maybe they'll use him in one of the other anthology films down the line to better sell his extremism. His inclusion would certainly get me more excited for the Han Solo movie

I'll always remember the old NEWS RADIO show where they did an episode as if they were in space and they have a news reader relaying the events of ANH only form the Imperial perspective. Funny but a bit of an eye opener as to how these events are shaped by who is telling the story.

Please... Reading public out there looking at their screens now... Playing dumb on the Internet is not only annoying it speaks to something about you as an individual in some way. Maybe I think too much of my fellow human beings. The Clone Wars series and Star Wars Rebels are canon. Forest Whitaker's character Saw Gerrera was actually a character that George Lucas created for the Clone Wars series, and two characters from Rebels make cameos in Rogue One.
