Do you think she will be in the next film? Will they explore how she contributed to Bruce growing up?

Will they take elements from 'there's no hope in crime alley'?

What do you think?

Oh, and i have one question. If she has a free clinic for poor people. then, where does she get the money to survive from.

Man I hope so. It could be some great dramatic scenes if Bruce have some flashbacks to the night his parents were killed and then Leslie took him in as well as her finding out that Bruce is BAtman and not to happy about it.

By the by, The clinic she runs has money donated to it by Bruce Wayne in the name of his father.

I doubt Leslie Thompkins will be in TDK, Nolan could have used her in BB.

We will see.

She would be a great addition to the character roster. Would really give a moral dimension to Bruces war on crime, as she did in the comics before the whole War Crimes crapfest.

What would she bring to the movie that Alfred or Rachael cannot? Movie Bruce already has his links to the past/childhood and close confidantes in them. As for medical care I would MUCH rather see Alfred picking bullets and stitching his wounds.

Already we have so many great characters. Bruce, Alfred, Gordon, Dent, Rachael, JOKER, Batman!, Scarecrow, Maroni, Vigilantes etc. I really don't care about anyone else....unless the movie's gonna be like 4hrs long......

Well, it could tie into the "things have to get worse before they can get better" theme. We flashback to see Bruce after at the murder scene. He's alone and then, Leslie comes along and helps him.

And also, in a non-canon story wasn't she Joker's mum. Maybe they coudl bring that in.

Really? That sounds terrible. I hate that idea.
Anyway, I personally feel Leslie is best placed to be Bruce's conscience. If one of this movie's subplots is 'Is he really Bruce Wayne or Batman, which is the mask?' (and there is plenty of evidence to indicate this), Leslie is the best character in the Batman mythos to confront Bruce about this and to question the moral implications of his war on crime. That is why i want her.

Plus, if played by Helen Mirren, we get some hot older totty.

Bringing Leslie in would be pretty easy to do IMO. At some point, Batman is gonna get beat up pretty badly and given the high profile of Bruce Wayne, Alfred can't take him to a hospital. Enter Dr. Thompkins.

The question is what does she bring to the story other than rendering emergency care? Like someone mentioned the moral voice and link to his past are provided by Rachel and Alfred.

At this point, it would feel like shoehorning.

Sure, we didn't see that much of Bruce's past, but I think there would've been some Thompkins presence.

If Nolan had any intention of using her, short of a cameo as a local doctor, he would've already.

I know, I know. But if Crooklyn (R.I.P.) can spend so much time b!tch!ing about Selina not being in this franchise, I can make a case for my 2nd favourite fictional grey haired doctor (after Dick Van Dyke in Diagnosis? Murder!) not being in either.

Yeah, Diagnosis Murder is good. I loved teh oen were he was trying to find the guy who was making the bombs and trying to discredit him and at the end the woman is tehre and blows up the hospital. As you can see i haven't seen all that many.

If there's a Dr.Thompkins treating Gordon (? or whoever gets injured at the hospital) that'd be cool. Maybe she can say "Hello Bruce, keeping busy?" or even "....heard you took a nasty fall, learning polo or something.." and that would be all.

Gordon and Alfred already did that. It'd be overkill on the sad orphan-kind comfort thing.

This is Alfred and Rachael. It's enough that Rachael is being brought back.

Alright, alright. I get the picture.

*sadly puts away lovingly put-together Leslie Thompkins scrapbook*

There is no hope... on the SHH boards.

Get Julie Christie or helen Mirren as leslie and you will get an awsome movie.

And Leslie is a character thad adds many things to the story, she is a kind of mother for bruce, and also a good ally for him and for Alfred.

I agree. Bringing Leslie in would be very easy to do....her character can slide right in no problem. She isn't a main character and would be an excellent supporting character. The chemistry between her, Bruce and Alfred would be great to see. Helen Mirren has to be the hottest older over 50 woman I have ever seen by the way! Mirren would be perfect as Dr Thompkins. It would be fun to watch Caines' Alfred try to romanticize her as well.

If they brought in Leslie would be so cool and unique by TDK/TPTB of WB because its not just catering to the teenies but real market as in older intelligent ladies. I think she's one needed and intriguing character.

Helen Mirren is rumored to join National Treasures 2 which I hope wont happen because that movie sucks bad. Helen Mirren is classy and is even way hotter than Maggie Gyllenhaal. If Helen cant do Leslie then another actress can play her.

Helen Mirren is actual IN THE NATIONAL TRESURE 2. She is confirmed. She will be a great leslie , not doubt about it. Also, she is even hotter in real life, one of the best looking and hotest ladies over 60. Also, she is extremelly intelligent, classy and with a great sense of humor.

But mi primal choice is still Julie Christie. She is also one of the hottest ladies over 60. She is really beautiful, classy, charming, with a great sense of humor and an amazing actress. She has all the qualities that Helen has. She will be great in the role too. And after away of her, her last movie, she is free now. The only problem will be if she will reprise her role of madame rosmerta in the last harry potter movie, a thing that isnt clear.

Maggie Smith or judi Dench are also diffificult to choose because maggie is in the harry potter franchise, and judi is in the james bond franchise. But i picture leslie like a hot and beautiful woman for her age, and helen judi arent in that way.

I guess Maggie Gyllenhaal is Alfred's love interest.

Helen Mirren would make a good Leslie Thompkins and so would Vanessa Redgrave who might get nominated for her movie "Evening".

I'd rather see Dench as Leslie Thompkins. I don't care if she's already M, I think she'd just be as good as Leslie, and could be nurturing, yet *****y like M to Bruce to keep him on his shoes with his detective work and gumshoeing.

Why is she doing National Treasure? Why Mirren why? I just saw Ghost Rider and Nick Cage is his usual weirdo self while Eva Mendes was so bad.
I got a female crush on Mirren too and so love watching her in Interviews with Oprah and on that ABC preOscar special. I agree with the guys saying that she blows Nicole Kidman,Maggie,Reese Witherspoon,Hathaway at the Red Carpet fashion. Even the gay fashionistas were in love and in lust with this woman.

100% agree with you, dude. I have a crash with both, julie christie and helen mirren. I preffer both of them to the nicole kidmans, angelina jolies, etc. I have seen her sometimes in london , and believe, she is more stunning in person than in movies. Hot as hell. And i dont know why helen is doing national treasure 2. Maybe, like julie christie said once why she was in troy and harry potter 3, she asked:" to pay some works in my house". I beat that helen's anwser is the same.

I seriously doubt we'll see Leslie Thompkins at all in any Batman film directed by Nolan, certainly not in TDK.

Personally, I never thought she was a terribly important character and could do without her completely. Besides, I think there are more than enough suppporting characters in BB/TDK as is; Alfred, Fox, Gordon, Rachel, Dent, Maroni, etc... Adding a character like Leslie Thompkins who (apparently) is important to Bruce's past would convolute the story and overcrowd the film with bit characters. And considering she is supposed to have been a mother figure to Bruce his whole life, I imagine if Nolan had any plans to include her at all, he would have done so in Begins, instead of having to add in more backstory in order to bring the audience up to speed in a sequel.

All that being said, I'd totally f**k Helen Mirren.

I disagree. I think Leslie Thompkins would fit perfectly into Nolan's Batman.

If Nolan wants this Batman to be "realistic", you'd have to imagine Bruce Wayne having A LOT of people "in the know" and helping him in his crusade. And Leslie Thompkins, being a doctor, would make sense, since Bruce is going to be injured a lot.

Secondly, Thompkins offers other avenues of storyline too, say for instance, if Bruce wanted to explore more about his father, since Leslie and his father worked together.

Or if Nolan wanted to give Alfred a romantic interest.
