I love the entire series, it's possibly the most watchable movie franchise ever. But Lethal Weapon 4 wasn't even a movie, fun as it was, it was a cast reunion.
It was only made because Superman Lives! couldn't make it's summer 1998 release date. Warner Bros literally threw money at the Lethal Weapon people to do it one more time. The whole movie was put together in record time, eight months I believe.
Mel Gibson has said, you can do Lethal Weapon maybe once or twice. Not four times. Can't see him doing a fifth.
