First he was Mad Max, then he was a Lethal Weapon. Now Mel Gibson is mad lethal in Lionsgate Premiere‘s action-packed new Blood Father trailer, which you can check out below, along with the poster in the gallery!

Mel Gibson stars as John Link, an ex-convict who must protect his estranged daughter (Erin Moriarty) from violent drug dealers. The action thriller also stars William H. Macy, Thomas Mann, Elisabeth Rohm, Diego Luna and Michael Parks.

Written by Peter Craig (The Town) and directed by French helmer Jean-Francois Richet (Mesrine), Blood Father opens in theaters August 12.
