Lethal Weapon V

ANd this isn't a franchise that is going to bring in the young crowd either. At least I don't think so

Not unless they somehow get their characters children involved & cast newer up & coming actors/actresses.

In actual fact, it would need to be their children's children because all of Murtaugh's children are/should be in their 40's or 50's. :D

16 Blocks is the last movie Donner directed.

Forgot about that. Thank God Timeline then wasn’t his last film.

To be fair, even circa 1998 they needed to bring in Chris Rock and Jet Li to appeal to the younger crowd.

I’m sure Rigg’s kid will be someone they can bring in for that appeal who’ll be in their mid-20s if they this ever sees the light of day. (I’d say Tom Hardy if he weren’t already too old, but that would be something).

Well I can't see any young actor that's for sure gonna put butts in seats. Michael B Jordan as one of Murtargh's kids?
There's not really any actor who's guaranteed money and more. Let alone a young one.

This doesn’t have the same nostalgia factor as Bill & Ted or Bad Boys. They should leave it alone.

Felt fitting

At this point it would have to be a nephew because his other kids are all adults in their 40's now. At least any of Rigg's kids would be in their 20's.

The actress that played Rianne, Traci Wolfe, is 60 years old. I'm sure she could pass for late 40's/early 50's. If the film focused on 2 younger actors somehow related to Riggs/Murtaugh it would need to be one of Murtaugh's grandchildren & perhaps Riggs son/daughter which you could pass off being between 20-30.

For this movie I am guessing that Murtaugh is retired finally and Riggs is already nearing retirement

And yeah, if they want to include the family dynamic then it would make sense for Murtaugh’s grandchild and Riggs’ child who were both born at the end of Lethal Weapon 4 to be heavily involved. Both would be in their early 20s by this point

Maybe even Chris Rock’s character would be included and he’d be a higher ranking officer

At least we know Pesci wouldn't be back. If he said no 50 times to Scorsese I don't know how he'll be convinced for Lethal Weapon 5. Then again, money talks.

At least take it back to the two of them.

I like the thought of them doing a new one. But I don't know if it could live up to the ones they did on It's Always Sunny. :funny:

Increase action movies sequel to geriatric speed !
But Sir, we will break the nostalgia barrier !

The last movie in 1998 was already pushing the limit. I counted at least five times I noticed the stuntman for Mel Gibson.
Oh yeah yeah, you're totally right. I remember. That's the kind of stuff you could get away with VHS in 1998 but it hasn't been kind with high definition formats.

Mel Gibson's kept himself in pretty great shape. I don't know about Lethal Weapon 4, but I'm pretty sure he pulled off the "action" thing in Expendables 3. In fact, he was the highlight from an otherwise terrible movie.

This. They should let the Sunny crew take over. :funny:

Expendables 3 came out almost six years ago although Gibson is in pretty good shape for a 64 year old I suppose.

Schwarzenegger and Stallone are both in their early seventies still played Rambo/Terminator last year.
