I know it was only 2002, but my gosh doesn't this already feel like a classic?

This was greatly put together, I'd argue one of the best of comic book superhero films trailers by far, I especially like the end (Aunt May: "You're not Superman you know," and cut to Peter's reaction). I remember how exciting it was to finally see Spider-Man in a movie. After that weekend, everyone in my class (this was 7th grade) started making web slinging noises with the hand gesture thingamabob (what do we call it?).

Any good memories from you guys?

THWIP:yay:

Yeah, one of the best trailers to a comic book movie. Spider-Man 2's is arguably better but the first one has that "Holy ****! It's Spidey!" factor.

I'm having fun reading old reviews of the film via Rotten Tomatoes. Really takes me back.

It was wicked cool. I find myself wishing that the trailer's them music had actually been used in the movie.

Jesus...I was like 10 when that came out. I think.

I remember on Lord of The Rings, where I first saw it...that was such a good experience. I had a computer, but it was so damn slow I couldn't watch videos (except during the summer, I made it let me watch the teaser).

My family and I went to go see LOTR and I was not expecting a Spider-Man trailer. That music started, Tobey started talking (so memorable) and that AWESOME shot of the Chrysler. I was like "...could it be?" then I saw him doing the web yo-yo and I was all
I loved the whole dialogue that Tobey had. The "Who am I?" and closing it before the montage "I'm Spider-Man." I remember my bro made fun of that, but he's not for Marvel at all. He makes fun of it. But I was nerdgasming ALL over the theater. I couldn't believe it. My favorite super hero, in a big movie. The effects were awesome, I loved how he swung, and the Goblin looked great!

LOTR was a great movie, but I must admit, that trailer had me distracted the whole movie. I remember my step dad had gotten me a poster from Toys R Us (with Spidey climbing on the side of the building) and I was just looking at the awesomeness of his costume that night. It was a few days after Christmas I think. Good times.

By the way, you lucky asses, :cmad: I didn't even get to watch that trailer again until like April when I found it on a DVD. All I had to go on was memories and one dream (where it came back to me really clear).

A good trailer...made me one of those new fans, that had the thought of seeing, for once, a GREAT superhero trilogy.

Too bad I was wrong.

LOL..I see what you mean. I was around 9 years old back then. I wasn't too fond of Spider-Man at first, but when I watched the trailer and the movie, I thought it was great and cool! After I watched the movie, I couldn't help but make those web noises (thwips). Good times...:yay:

I got that feeling watching it just now.

The music at the end? I have it. :woot:

There's so much that's awesome about this movie. Say what you will about Goblin's suit, I think it works within the plot of the movie. And let's be honest, would you really want to wear a fabric tunic if you were flying around in war?

A fantastic origin, really captured the Uncle Ben/Peter dynamic and how much his death affected him, decent special-effects for the time and solid score.
9.5/10

Out of curiosity, what would you rate SM2 and SM3, Ross?

The trailer I saw was the one with the towers. I think my friend and I were watching Final Fantasy or something. When the two crooks got stuck in a web, and then a farther shot to them being stuck between the two towers...the whole audience gasped. Like, oh **** that's Spider-Man!

Not the sound, I mean the hand thing...lol. It looks like the 'devil sign'. Speaking of, I love when Peter is trying to figure out how to use his web (so much better than the web shooters thing). SHAZAM! was my favorite.

I think that trailer sucks. If you take away the excitement of seeing Spider-Man realized for the first time, it's just generic Hollywood trailer with awful music.

'You aren't Superman. WUTLOLEND' Weak.

I haven't watched SM2 in a while, but it's definitely a 10. It's just so powerful and really speaks to me in a way that it probably doesn't with other fans. I had a lot of things going on in my life when this came out and I've always been able to draw parallels between the film and my life...minus the spider-powers, of course. :oldrazz:

I've only seen SM3 twice but I know it's not as good as SM1 or SM2...I can't rate it off of memory, but I remember liking it a lot more the second time I saw it and that was maybe a week or two after the opening day.

anyone remember The original trailer for the movie depicted a theft of a bank, with the robbers making a getaway in a helicopter. A close-up of the helicopter was shown, until the helicopter stopped, apparently caught in mid-air. As the camera zoomed out, it was shown that the helicopter was caught in a spider web, suspended between the two towers of the World Trade Center?

I have a copy of that trailer somewhere.

Ah, I remeber when I saw it. I forget what movie I was seeing, but I was like 9 or something, and I was sitting there. I dind't expect it to be spiderman, but when I saw Spidey my mouth was wide open and my eyes were as wide as they could get. When the movie was over I remember saying we have to see it. Then we saw it the second day it wne tinto theaters for my cousin's b-day, and I was just blown away. Aw, Ithose were the days. Then SM3 came along... *cringes*

9 years old?! Wow, I feel old now...lol. I was 13.

It's funny I was looking at all the trailers for 1-3 today and I just noticed how the 'trailer' in general has evolved. Look at the trailer for S-M1;

What do all think of the music? I think that it's kind of cheesy, and it doesn't add to the epic event that is the trailer. It's just music with no real purpose. Now look at the final trailer for S-M3;

I think that it's perfect. An epicly orchestrated song that has a purpose which ties perfectly with what's going on in the trailer. Such a difference between this trailer and the trailer from 2001.

Just thought that I'd share.:yay:

I remember I didn't used the computer that time. I saw it in a TV show called "Coming attractions", who showed trailers for upcoming movies. When I saw it, I just couldn't believe my eyes. It was Spider-Man! In Live-Action!

I told EVERYONE in school about it. No one had a computer or didn't used it, nor saw the show, so, everyone called me a liar for saying there was a Spider-Man movie coming. Until it came up on regular TV. Everyone was excited!

I ran home like an police fugitive to see the rerun after school!

Oh, boy... Good times...

Tbh I was not too excited about a Spidey movie back in 2001, I was pretty sure hollywood would bastardize him (I had heard some not-good things about the Cameron script).

But seeing that trailer for the first time absolutely thrilled me and the movie didn't disappoint.

i didnt know where to talk about just the first film so im using this

im in the process of making a music video of SM using this song, and i just want your input of my song selection before i go and make it
i think it goes well with saving MJ

It still is an awesome triler. Thing is, back in 2001, that was, I think, the type of music they'd put into action film trailers.
