Let's Prove to Marvel that Cyclops is COOL

I'm more "in my mind" than you apparently are. Read my post carefully and you'll notice that I say that the Wolverine/Jean thing was attraction, not love. There's a difference there and if you don't know that, then you're the one that needs real life lessons instead of the rest of us.

Flirting is one thing, I understand flirting and KNOW it's normal even within married couples (even though it can lead to hypocritical jealousy a lot of times, but that's another story). Kissing other people while in a commited realtionship doesn't make you a skank? In my book it does, real life and comic life. I wouldn't want my girlfriend/wife kissing another man in a "moment of weakness" or because it was a "mistake", those are just excuses. Apart from the whole Scott/Emma thing the only times Scott has been with another woman has been when Jean has been out of the picture. Jean has had loose lips while being with Scott. I love the Jean Grey character and I think she's a good woman, I just don't think she's superior to him in regards to faithfulness. To me the whole Emma/Scott thing came out of left field, I didn't like the development but there's nothing I can do about it.

Aside from the telepathic affair which details escapes me since I never read it and can´t comment it, Scott didn´t run around kissing other women while engaged to Jean.
That´s what makes the difference betwen a girlfriend/wife who "truly loves" you and a skank.
Flirting is cute but there´s a line you just don´t cross.
A girfriend/wife who "trully loves" you and is committed to you will go out of her way to show any idiot who crosses that line that touching (let alone kissing) her is an awfull-horribly bad idea.
Insults. physical violence, severed relations, psychological agression... Some of the scennes I´ve seen women pull when they feel a man has crossed that line defy believe.

If Jean was trully devoted to Scott, she would have TK´ed Logan senseless the very first time he touched her.
She would have went out of her way to show him that putting his hairy paws on her was a bad idea and she would channel her every effort to make sure he got the message.

This is how it is when we´re talking about women who not only loves you, but "trully loves" you.
Women like this, you touch them at your own peril.

In Jean´s case, you touch when you feel like it.

Yes, I agree with you guys, in that the act of kissing back another man after being kissed in a dicey situation is not exactly a thing a woman in a committed relationship would do. But fundamentally, I don't think Jean is a skank, or that her actions/reasoning leading up to being kissed where skanky. Hell, it's not like she's flaunting her body parts in front of Logan asking to be kissed.

I see your point, but as far as flaunting it goes, Jean's outfit is actually pretty conservative compared to other superheroines.

But, if you think Jean's actually that skanky, then I suppose you have good reason to think so. I still personally disagree, but that's just my opinion.

I like Jean a lot myself. (despite her skankyness) and actually prefer her to Emma.

I´d rather have seen Scott hook up with Psylocke.

Yup, me too (on the Psylocke thing). I don't know where Emma came from. Well, I have a good idea where she came from, but rather I have no idea why she'd be chosen over Betsy. I wasn't even aware that Emma and Scott had a normal conversation up until New X-men.

Betsy was probably considered a bad choice due to her link with Archangel. In the early days, before Wolverine came into the picture Warren was the one that was also after Jean. I guess making the whole Betsy/Warren/Scott triangle more concrete would have had too many similarities to the past. And if there are things that are out of character THAT would have been VERY out of character for Scott. I can't remember if Warren was starting to have feelings towards Jean during X-Factor again, before he became Archangel and was involved with Candy Southern.

Dude, seriously, imagine that your wife was kissed by a guy everytime she was alone in a room with him and her worst reaction to having his tongue shoved through her throat was:" This is a mistake."
Would you call that being a "virtuous wife truly in love with you"?


I don´t know how women are where you live (I´ll grant that mediterranean women are extremelly territorial and possessive) but out here, 80-85% of women don´t go around kissing or letting other men kiss them while they´re -alledgedly- "truly in love".

Heck, you don´t even put one finger on them (let alone kissing) without getting seriously scorched - and I´m talking physical violence, bodily harm here, you´ll be extremelly lucky if she only insults you in front of everyone in a 10 mile radius.

Unless she´s a skank, of course.

Then you are free to kiss them and rub your hands all over them and the worst you´ll get is a "- don´t do that, don´t you see I´m married?".

But if where you live 80-85% of all married women let men get away unharmed with shoving their tongues in them everytime you´re alone in a room, then I seriously need to move there.

While I agree with you that she is not a shank. As a telepath, she knew Logan (or Grifter, or whoever) where going to try to kiss her before they even started. She could have easily stop them.

I don't have a clue either, but maybe his powers are finally gaining some of their potential by being redirected from other parts of his body (besides his eyes)? But really, it just looks like his optic blasts are about to overwhelm his visor to me.

Um, Grifter and Logan are two different people. Grifter is the alias of Cash Cole, a member of the WILDCATS, IIRC. It's been a long time.

If you even knew the character, you'd know he's probably one of the most athletic and physically capable humans in Marvel. Usually, he doesn't get to flaunt his stuff because let's face it, if you have a freakin sniper rifle (like his eyes), and your facing a midget armed with knives (say, Logan), the last thing you want to do is get close enough for a knife fight with the midget. Not to mention the fact that his optic blasts lets him level a hundred midgets faster than anyone can take down one in hand-to-hand.

But in a no powers scenario, he's definitely up there. He's no Batman, but he'll hold his own against most of his opponents - specifically the ones that are not trained extensively in hand-to-hand combat.

To the extent that a human can, sure. Obviously, he's not gonna reach lightspeed, nor increase his strength to class 100, but he can make his optic blasts go pretty fast (does anyone know how fast?) and pretty strong, to the point that you do not want to make the guy cut loose.

Logan can cut loose and go beast-like because his claws can only skewer one human at a time. Scott can't - if he did, he'd be as likely to wipe out his entire team as the enemies he's trying to destroy.

Self-control is a necessity for him.

Um, firstly, you missed my point. Cyke can accidentally kill anyone (cept Juggs) easily.

Secondly, about YOUR point. I'll give you Jean/Phoenix - Scott doesn't stand a chance. The other two, no. Especially not Storm - she has more raw power, sure (although the question of whether she can summon this power faster than Cyke's visor can shoot off an optic blast is questionable). But she still has nothing to protect her from a direct optic blast - and neither does Gambit, from what I recall. In a battle between Gambit and Storm vs. Scott (not at the same time), it'll come down to intelligence, mind games, and strategy. Scott stands a pretty good chance of defeating both, IMO.

Gambit would deffinitely lose to Scott. Storm might stand a chance cause of the flight advantage but i'd still give scott even odds at worst.
