Letterman Retiring In 2015

Hey, don't disrespect Rush! Apparently, he's now one of the most prominent Asian-American feminists!

Well, Oliver is getting his own show so someone will vie for that slot.

Comedy Central will try something new, away from fake news. They at least try to innovate with late night shows.

Colbert started as a Daily Show corespondent, saw his boss Craig Kilborn go to CBS for the Late Late Show, had his new boss Jon Stewart almost go to CBS or ABC in 2003, saw Comedy Central colleague Jimmy Kimmel get his own show on ABC, had a NBC comedy pilot that wasn't picked up, got his own half hour show based off promos for a fake Colbert Report to finally reaching The Late Show ten years later.

Easily my favourite character of the past ten years, will miss him. I will check out the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, I've stopped watching the late night talk shows and have just focused on The Daily Show, Colbert Report and At Midnight. I watched Fallon's first week and Seth's first couple of shows but there wasn't anything there to keep me watching whereas the three Comedy Central shows get funnier with each half hour and more enjoyable.

Good on CBS for doing a quick transition. Letterman was 46 when he started the Late Show, Colbert could be be 50/51. The Colbert Report ends this December and CBS is likely to have Colbert start in early September 2015 with NFL and their primetime lineup to help launch the show.

Speaking of Comedy Central, I don't understand what the big deal is with Chris Hardwick. I don't find him funny.

He's funny, up on pop and geek culture, its the comedians and internet generated content on At Midnight that are really funny.

While he isn't a rags to riches, self-man man (he was on MTV after all), Chris was able...magically to reinvent himself and became relevant. All this when a few years ago, he was a fat drunk. He cleaned up and got a second lease on life. And now he's got an empire.

Also the Nerdist podcast (depending on the guest) is an amazing podcast. Listen to the two Tom Hanks episodes. Amazing stuff there.

Should they ever need a new host on 'Late Night' (and I can't help but think Seth Meyers won't work out), Hardwick would be a good fit.

If she's in good enough health, Teri Garr needs to be on the show before Dave retires

Paving the way for Colbert is the best thing Letterman has ever done.

Jk, he's obviously been a huge piece of television history, although his sense of humor is not really my taste most of the time. Maybe it's just his writers. Much bigger fan of the more modern types - Ferguson, Conan, Fallon, etc.

Some highlights from Dave's last show

Bill Murray was drunk the night before and you can hear Letterman ask him "I saw you on TV last night. You okay?"

What more can be said that hasn't been said already?

I can't believe the only thing worth checking out for some gags is Fallon and Kimmel now.

Oh wait there's Conan lol.
