What is his actual personality? Even in interviews, he keeps that fake persona on.
He's very normal, but really funny. He does a Q&A with the audience before the show, and they remind everyone before they go in that it
is just a character so this is your chance to ask him anything you want while he's out of character, and the more random (or from LOTR) the better, since that gets him hyped up for the show.
I've been to the show twice, and the first time someone asked "If you could meet someone living or dead, what would you wear?" He totally loved that question, and first asked if he was the one who was dead or alive and then answered, "Birthday suit."
It was also the day before the World Cup started, and some guy asked if he was supporting the US, or "your native France." He said, "I'm not French, mother****er!" which was hysterical. He and the guy hugged. During the show, he did a segment about the World Cup and pointed to that guy before he started it.
The second time I went, someone asked if he was planning to see The Phantom Menace in 3D that weekend. He said no, since it just meant "the sucking will be coming right at you."
He also screwed up a few times while he had a record player on stage. After one screwup, he said "thank god this is our last show.." then put the record on and started dancing. When he was done, he said "Nope, still got it!" and went back to the show.
He tosses those red 'WristStrong' wristbands he wears into the audience, and he ran into the crowd high-fiving people after the show.
It's a lot of fun. I'd love to go back one more time before he leaves.
