Looks like a trailer isn't always what it seems.
Wait, you liked House of Wax? House of Wax with Paris ****ing Hilton?I've been careful to not look at spoilers for this. And i don't care what anyone says I wanna see this. Or maybe it's just cause I liked the Directors one other film before. Either way I;m seeing it this weekend.

I found this film to be quite stressful and actually pretty solid up until the wholesequence. After that, it got very unimaginative.***** slap
I haven't seen this film, and I didn't read anything about it on wikipedia or anywhere else. And yet, somehow, just from the previews, I sh** you not, I figured out what the plot twist/shocker revelation was going to be.
Let me be the first to say that I'm not particularly good at guessing these twist endings. But it's gotten to the point now where, with these horror films, it would be a bigger plot twist if there was no plot twist. It didn't help that, with this particular film, they TOLD you there was going to be a twist in the trailer. "You'll never guess her secret." Well, gee, now that you've provoked me, I'm going to see if I can.
Is she a ghost? No... doesn't look like there's a supernatural element to this movie. If there was, I think the trailer would have indicated that somehow. Is the twist that she's not really an orphan (perhaps she's somehow the main characters' long lost child or something)? No... that would probably be too difficult to pull off without giving it away. Wait a minute... the trailer indicated she may have been posing as an orphan and the orphanage never had any record of her. For her to pull that off, she'd have to be pretty intelligent. Hmm... what if... she's not really a little girl? What if she suffers from that disorder that keeps her body from growing? Yep... that sounds like something that you'd "never see coming."
The problem is, when you TELL your audience right off the bat that there's going to be a twist or a big reveal, they're going to look for it. Very few things are surprising anymore with horror films. You know that in the end, the hero is going to turn out to be the villain, or they are actually dead, or someone in the story is just a hallucination, blah blah blah.
She's a 30-year-old midget.I **** you not.

Warner Home Video and New Line have the rest of their 2009 DVD and Blu-Ray slate lined up. We've learned that the Dark Castle thriller Orphan will land on October 27th, naturally to take advantage of the Halloween season. Also, The Final Destination, which opens in select theaters in 3-D on August 28th, will debut on home video December 22nd. It's still early in the game, so special features have not been announced, however, we understand that there will be a documentary chronicling "evil kid" cinema that will be accompanied with Orphan.
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/17298Early details have emerged on DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray ($35.99) releases of Orphan, which stars Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard. Each will be available to own on October 27. The only extra material on the DVD release will be additional scenes and an alternate ending. The Blu-ray release will include those scenes, along with a Mama's Little Devils: Bad Seeds, Evil Kids and Orphan featurette, and a digital copy of the film.
"The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate and John, taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther. Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there's something wrong with Esther--this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late...for everyone."
