The Trailer for Dark Castle's Orphan
Source:MySpace
March 12, 2009

As promised earlier this week, here's the trailer for Orphan, starring Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga. The film marks the genre return of director Jaume Collet-Serra who also helmed Dark Castle's House of Wax remake.

Synopsis: The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate and John, taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther. Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there's something wrong with Esther--this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late...for everyone

I'm willing to give anyting a chance. Or atleast until i see more.

The trailer looked good, but I've seen this film before, it was called The Omen...then it was called something else for a while, then The Good Son came out.....

I've seen this movie before. The glowing fish video was more interesting than this. And honestly, it's illogical film IMO because if I was adopting a child, a girl noless, I'd see this girl with her "look" and say, "naw, you got a cuter kid we can pick from?".

Maybe, i'm only saying that cause I liked his other film. Yes, I am aware of other people's opinions of that film. What i'm saying The House Of Wax remake is one of my fav remakes.

I think it looks ok, it has a decent cast and good location.

Foster care groups are in an uproar after seeing Warner Bros. Pictures' campaign for their forthcoming Orphan, which follows a family whom adopt the child from hell. What caused this stir-up was the line in the film's trailer (watch it beyond the break), "It must be hard to love an adopted child as much as your own." Since the ad campaign began this week adoptive parents and groups have barraged the film company Warner Brothers with complaints, saying the film taps into unfounded fears about adoption. Warner Bros. response, "They were right... Their complaints resonated with us." WB is moving "as quick as possible" to remove the offending line from the film's marketing materials. Check out ABC News[/URL] for the full story.

You believe this? It's only a movie? And if you believe this cause a movie tells you, then I don't know what to say.

I have issues with people who get offended. I think they deserve to be offended because they're the ones letting themselves be offended. It's a freaking movie like you said.

But yes, if you get offended, you can moan and complain about it until you get your way.....unless you're gay in California, keep whinning because it's just making you seem more dramatic. lol.

Mmm...think any gay Californian Hyper's will be offended by my remark?

Yeah, just complain til you get your own way.

Most of the time worked as a little kid and should work again this time.

so it's John and Kate Plus 1 from Hell...lol

WB are freakin *****es for doing what they asked......:o
I know right. "Oh kno, someone didn't like the line from the trailer, let's not edit it out from the more recent trailers."

I heard the trailer plays with drag me to hell. I'll have to see if that's the "Newer" triailer. But atleast for now its still rated R....... for now.

no they left the line in the drag me to hell trailer.. i saw(heard) it myself.

i hope WB knows that by removing it this will cause more people to be offended by more stupid crap that they will have to remove too.

I'll have to see it then.

I know right, this is only gonna lead to more stuff being removed cause people are offended.

You would think with all the other kinds of horror films and this is the one that offends people?

"I mean something like this could happen in real life, but not in a movie" :whatever:

People gotta learn and know the difference between things.

Zoinks. That was one awful trailer. Especially embarassing opening for the brilliant Drag Me To Hell.

How long has this one been on the shelf? It looks like one of those bland cheapie efforts that sits in the studio vault until they need something to fill a release date.

I just think it's funny that the last time I saw Vera Farminga in a movie, it was "Joshua," a film about... you guessed it... the child from hell. That movie was excellent though. This just looks like crap.

Vera Farminga was awfully sexy with that Boston accent in "The Departed"

What is it with Hollywood and scary kid in films? Even if it's been done before i think the film looks pretty creepy.:o

Trailer is available in Quicktime now too.

The twist is.....(from IMDB....and i'm sure it's true cuz a few people confirmed it.)

she's a dwarf ex-hooker in her 30s who pretends to be a child.
