I believe that the act of giving life is worth dying for...

... which also relates to another thread. You see how the relationships here work? Its crazy and kooky.

One of the best polls (options-wise) I've seen around.. in a long time.

I voted Not that much but I'm working to make it better.. :woot:

I've recently hit a bump in my life where not a whole lot is going right. Although I try to keep positive, I see that a lot of things will never change for the better. However, I'm relatively happy with my life. I haven't been happy for the past year, but I value my life deeply.

If people with worthless lives they're still worth something.

I mean people gotta eat. Average male weighing in at 180 lbs. That's a lot of food. Worth something at least.

Hooray for thread bumpage!

Aeghast - I like your pick. I think it shows that you are hopeful and optimistic and with that kind of attitude, with desire and hard work to make your life better, I am sure that one day you'll get to where you want to be. I wish you all the best.

Nirvana - Same goes for you. I think that you too have the right attitude. It's true that some things can't be changed and sometimes we just have to accept that and move forward and live our life as best as we can.

I can't remember what made me start this thread. I think it had something to do with Life Insurance.

You know how we often hear this:
"Life is precious". Is it really? (Anyone who posts here and say this is an "emo" thread, I'm gonna kick your arse!! ) Are all human life equal? Or is the value of one Life greater than another? Who puts value in our Life? Society or us, as individuals?

I'd like to know what do you think the value of your Life is and why do you put such a value to your Life. What are the criterias for your appraisal?

Thank you for your time.

~Bella

I think we are equals. No one life is any "better" than another. We are all one. Everything we do affects someone else and everyone else in one way or another. Is that the way it's viewed? No way, not even close, or at least not enough people see it like that to where it would make a difference. Will it ever become that way? I guess you can hope for it.

I would like to think that my life is worth more than some murderers or rapists or child molesters.

For the purpose of Life Insurance though, my life has more value than, for instance, someone who is a smoker.

No one is born a murderer or a rapist or a child molester. Like I said, if everyone were to realize we are all one, we probably wouldn't have those kind of problems.

But we do have those kind of problems. Does that change the value of a person's life?

Suicide, euthanasia... same thing? Who has the right to your life?

I agree with copyright to an extent. That loser that will never amount to anything could save your life tomorrow, or shoot you dead...so essentially, the most important people on earth are whoever happens to be around you at any given time.

God, how old is this thread?

I don't remember how I voted.

what happened to Hades btw?

No, I think you are taking what I am saying the wrong way. I understand that's not the kind of world we live in. That's just the one I can hope for in the future. We all depend on each other in one way or another. How well we relate to everyone and everything around us dictate our success as human beings. And if we all truly believed in that and understood it, the world would be such a better place. But in the kind of social structure that the world is in today, it doesn't seem possible. You can only make the best of it as is right now, take care of No. 1, which is depressing in a way.

Just a little over a year old. I think someone was on a 'bumpage' spree.

I don't remember how I voted.
If you were to vote again today, which option would you pick?

what happened to Hades btw?
I wish I knew. Last I heard, he has quite a successful singing career... as Josh Groban.

I think I did read you wrong. My bad. I get what you're saying now. I guess we can only dream.

So...do you have life insurance?

It's precious and I am content in where I am at the moment... but I do still try and improve and expand on where I am so I can be content with where I am in the future. If you're not striving to be better at things, you become complacent and bored.

Who wants to sit and vegetate when you can be growing into something bigger, something more than you already are?

I aspire to get to the point where I can just sit and vegetate. *le sigh*

Bo0o!

You don't have far to go; you have one last step.

Right,

All you need to do is either stop smoking menthols or change the colour of your floor. If you dropped your menthol packet on the floor, you wouldn't be able to find them.

Your achievement bonuses would be maxed out after this. Fully Levelled Up +1.

You better not be conspiring with the reds against me Eggy. :cmad:

Besides... I love menthols. :csad:

Pretty much what I'm saying is that even though my life and literally the world (Economy, government, war, etc) around is spiraling down a hellhole, I won't ever do anything to put me in harms way (i.e. Suicide). I value life and I hope that someday my life and the world around me will change for the better.

This is one of my favorite topics to debate, and it's been a while since I've thought about it, so I figure here is as good as anywhere. I fully expect wise-ass remarks, jokes about the cereal and boardgame, and possibly a religious debate; all of which are fine by me, as long as they're done properly (i.e. debates are civil, jokes are funny, etc.)

What is life? How do you define something so abstract? Does it have meaning? What do you think causes it? Tell me your thoughts.

Human Life is the presence of free will, and of the spirit of God who created Life.
