    We apologize for the inconvenience.

Which of the following four would you accept for your life?

That's pretty much where I'm at. I heard what Freddy Mercury said about "I want it all and I want it now!" and that's pretty much what I've gotten.

And if you had to choose Jag?

And if you had to choose Jag?

I don't have to choose, V. That's the beauty of it. And even considering it constitutes self-limiting thinking from my perspective. I've attracted a beautiful balance of all the things I want in my life without sacrificing anything. Are there other goals or aspirations that I want to attain going forward? Absolutely; I'm not complacent nor am I ungrateful for what I have. But I also know that I can accomplish and attain the other things that I want to achieve in life without giving anything up along the way.

I would like or should I say love #4 but I would settle with #3.

i'd take 1 2 and 3.
can't deal with not being something, spent 20 years in full time education, i'd die inside.

would be very happy with 2 actually.

I don't understand.

Do you mean that you'd choose 1, 2, or 3 because you want to be defined by what you have or do?

V.

I think I'm in transition of being an everyday person. I'm about to start paying my own insurance, got a good job working in a Toyota plant...the hours are a little rough but its worth it right now.

why at this time:huh:

also i'd say 3...

You'd choose 3. I see a definite trend here.

There are so many people who if push came to shove would prefer 3 overall.

The combination of doing what you enjoy in the company of others of similar mind seems more important than wanting for nothing or having a true love.

"Life is choice" - disconnect your reality and imagine that you must be limited to the choices as outlined. It is understood by all that NOONE fits neatly into any of these.
"Life is sacrifice" - It is patently impossible to get anything w/o cost,.. so one must balance what they need with what they want,.. and what they want with what they can get. So put importance to that which you are willing to give up to get something in return and break down your reasoning so I can read it.

Please.

I know someone who once decided that she would be taken care of.

20 years later she is an executive for a medium sized company out of LA and is still unmarried, still supporting herself. in the time since I met her she has put two girls thru college and has serious resources.

On this thread she would be a #2 creeping real close to a #1.

I find it very interesting that the posters say #3,

But the most votes go to #4.

No sense in even pretending as far as I'm concerned. Like I said, that's self-limiting thinking and not even worth entertaining. :)

Yeah, going to have to disagree with you that life is sacrifice and that you must give up anything to get what you want as a hard and fast rule; occasionally that does happen but it's not nearly as often as most people seem to think it must be. Sorry.

Interesting.

You really believe that one can not be limited by circumstance and one can get all they desire without tradeoffs.

I'd be interested in seeing how it's possible.

If you are focused on it, believe in it, want it bad enough, and work towards it, you can attain it. Manifesting your wants, needs and desires is something anyone can do, regardless of circumstance or station in life. But, tell yourself you can't do this or that or that there are conditions or sacrifices that must be made in order to do it, then guess what? You'll be right. You won't be able to accomplish what you want or you will have to make sacrifices, because those are the conditions you put upon yourself in order to attain (or not attain) what you were after.

We have not even moved into "can't". But there has to be reality injected into WHAT IS POSSIBLE with resources available.

Otherwise we'd have no civilization. if everyone hared off to go after what they wanted/needed/desired with exclusion of all including concequences we'd have anarchy.

There will always be conditions to be met to allow the stability to attain and maintain what people can get/achieve.

This is why I don't understand you.

Agreeing to disagree.

We'd both get carpal tunnel trying to discuss it. I'll just leave it with this thought; you tend to get what you are focused on, and most people focus on the wrong things.

I
Agree.

I'm between 1, 2, and 3. But I'd love it if I can live comfortably without worrying about money constantly, and at times I'm a bit reclusive, so #2 is an option I'd be happy with.

"Looking In My Mirror
Took Me By Surprise
I Can't Help But See You
Running Often Through My Mind

Helpless Like A Baby
Sensual Disguise
I Can't Help But Love You
It's Getting Better All The Time

I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It Even If I Could
I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It, No

I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It Even If I Could
I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It, No

Love To Run My Fingers
Softly While You Sigh
Love Came And Possessed You
Bringing Sparkles To Your Eyes

Like A Trip To Heaven
Heaven Is The Prize
And I'm So Glad I Found You Girl
You're An Angel In Disguise

I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It Even If I Could
I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It, No

And I'm So Glad I Found You Girl
You're An Angel In Disguise

I Can't Help It If I Wanted To
I Wouldn't Help It Even If I Could

SIGH.

Well, I'm alone already and I don't really mind, so being well off is just the icing on the cake.

Not necessarily, I've pretty much been drilled into me that I'm here for a purpose and to fulfill a niche work need. Now if I don't fill that void of fulfilling purpose then I am effectively nothing.

The cash rewards are only some flimsy guideline of how well i fill that void.

it's like being a training all your life to perform in some olympic event. It'd be such a waste if the event never truelly existed (and red bull weren't able to make it up for you).

It remains interesting what the poll shows and what people type.

"3" has the lowest tally in the poll,.. and the highest tally (convo) in the thread.

"4" has the highest tally in the poll,.. but most who bother to explain say they would "settle" for #4 but w3ould rather have #3 with Benifits of #4.
