Limitless - CBS Continuation of the Film

I wonder if DeNiro would ever consider guest starring on the show. It would make some good follow up to the movie.

Second ep was also pretty dull but I do like the dynamic between Jennifer Carpenter and the guy.

I like Finch. And I like that Bradley Cooper's character isn't exactly an ally to start off with.

This show reminds me of Ultimate Spider-Man. There's the same way he stops the story to explain things to the audience, there's the imaginary version of him who talks to him effectively over his shoulder, similar humor, etc. Those speech bubbles that appeared when he explained he could read lips was something you would've found in Ultimate Spidey.

I thought this weeks ep was a step up, Bryan's imaginary moments were pretty funny, especially his version of Rebecca's take down, and I like the dynamic between the two.

It's a shame Shauna was cut straight out, I liked her. Although I figured she wouldn't last as I am sure they'll be toying with the Bryan/Rebecca relationship as the show develops.

I didn't see the film but I'm surprised Bradley Cooper and his associates are so sinister in the show.

This episode was alright. I think the writers have thus far done a very good job with the main character and his quips hit home all the time keeping the interest levels up even when there is a possible lull. Interesting turn of events in the end with
Cooper's character's intentions revealed a little more and him possibly being kind of a double agent.

I knew as soon as Mr. Sands showed up and threatened Bryan and all those he cares about if he didn't comply that he'd cut Shauna out to protect her. You can tell he's really starting to second-guess getting involved with Morra. I think the addition of Morra's henchman adds another complication to his job that should serve as a nice storyline that can last throughout the season(s).

Yeah, the double agent position he has unwittingly been placed in gives the show an extra interesting layer.

According to the show's executive producer at NYCC today, Bradley Cooper will next show up on the Oct. 27th episode with his character wanting something from Brian in exchange for his next shot of the anti-side effect injection.

Bradley Cooper will want someone's prosthetic leg.

And it still feels like Ultimate Spider-Man.

The cases this week were pretty easy for Brian to solve but it was all the stuff surrounding NZT and Rebecca's father that made the episode worthwhile. Brian thought he could outsmart Sands in faking the FBI's reports on NZT but was found out and his dad was put in the hospital as a result. Before handing over the real files, he took a look at and saw the FBI's entry about Rachel's dad, which is surprising because Rachel doesn't think they knew he was a suspected user. This storyline looks interesting, especially with the previews for the upcoming episodes showing Sands wants Brian to get rid of Harris somehow and Brian suffering from NZT side effects likely because he disobeyed a further demand before getting the anti-side effect shot.

I kind of like the flow of how they do the cases. The initial case may not necessarily be the primary one of the episode.

Did love their text conversation at the lab.

It was a very entertaining episode and almost integrated the overarching plot with the procedural elements seamlessly. In fact their take on the procedural element was slightly different from what I'm used to seeing where cases are over-complicated for the sake of being so. It's rather replaced effectively by multiple subplots interwoven into each other.

It almost felt like the main case (Chinese espionage) was there to serve as filler for the overarching NZT/Morra plotline and the character developments for Brian and Rebecca.

Jennifer Carpenter makes the show for me, it's fun seeing her in a lighter role.

Having seen her on Dexter for so many years I keep waiting for her to drop F-Bombs. :funny:

Had a feeling it would considering it's done fairly well for it's timeslot. I think we're going to see CBS renew shows with ratings like this because it's just so rare for shows to get massive ratings like NCIS, Empire, or Big Bang Theory. The ratings standard that most networks use is so much different than what they did even 2-3 years ago because of increases in streaming, DVR, and binge watching.

He's starting to build his own council of Finchs in his head.

It's funny how this is the 2nd show I watch (The Goldbergs being the other) that has used Ferris Bueller's Day Off as inspiration for an episode.

The Bruntoucable stuff at the end was great.

Terrific episode, they're so creative with this and Jake McDorman really has IT.

Yeah, they do spice up the crime of the week format in fun ways. And whoever expected this show to be this fun, based on the movie.
