Linkin Park is Back : Minutes to Midnight

Basically he told us, 'If it sounds like it could've been on the first two records, then we're not going to work on it.' "
They've finally developed musical ears! :)

i find it hilarious how people are fighting about the band on a message board. the likes of you meeting are very slim. honestly, those who dont like the band can get the **** off the board, those who like it can stay. it's quite simple actually.

^The Hype doesn't work that way. If you hate the thread topic, you're actually encouraged to enter and annoy the people in it.

That new song is..so..very..generic. Not that I was expecting anything better, but still.

This brings back memories of unnecessary adolescent moping.

say what you will about linkin park, but mike shenoda is one of the best lyricists out there. he beats the pants off of just about any "rapper" i've ever heard.

and yeah, their new song is kind of... blah.

not bad, not good, just kind of... there.

if you can name someone better, please, let me know.

granted, i don't listen to a lot of underground rap/hip hip, or really much at all, but if you can name a mainstream artist who can put words together better than shenoda, i'd love to hear it.

i'd put him up there with most of the older eminem stuff. they're in a league all their own.

The only time I could tolerate Shenoda's rapping was when he was doing Jay's verse in 99 Probs.

I pray to God it's still April Fool's where you are.

like i said, if you can name someone better, please do.

have you heard 'fort minor'? easily one of the best hip hop albums of the last few years.

You've lived a sheltered life, haven't you? :O

Mike Shinoda is a capable emcee at best, and granted a few of those Fort Minor tracks ("Cigarettes", "Kenji", and a good chunk of the mixtape) were pretty damn solid, but to even consider putting him into the ring of "best emcees around" is quite simply the most laughable s*** I've heard....today.

I don't have enough time or bandwidth to list the number of emcees who can "put words together" better than Mike Shinoda. For a rock/rap/numetal emcee, he's solid. As an emcee in general, he's slightly better than average. That's about all I can give him.

i'm still waiting for someone to name a better rapper.

Why should I? The very fact that you consider Mike Shinoda the cream of the lyricist crop indicates to me you probably wouldn't even recognize a single name I list.

i didn't ask for a list... i just asked for you to name anyone. you seem to be dodging the question, as you took the time to type up all that, and still can't give me one name.

I never said Shinoda was THE best, I think he's one of the best, from the music I listen to, but Ludacris and Jay-Z are definitely superior, IMO.
