If you want to taste a glimpse of how would have been Adrian Veidt as portrayed by Tom Cruise, watch "Lion for Lambs".
Near the end of the movie Meryl Streep asks Cruise, a Republican politician, when he will start his master plan and he answers "I did it 30 minutes ago".

that upsets me. I love that line, and am upset if it has been stolen like that.

Oh well, i dont think too many people wll see that movie.

Ditto. I don't think many people have watched this movie and I don't think many people will rent this movie.

Hmm... and I bet he stole that line from reading Snyder's script.
Sure, another guy is credited as the writer of LFL screenplay, but this is Tom Cruise we're talking about. If he says he wants that line in the movie, it'll be in the movie.

The "Lionf for Lambs" script was written by Matthew Michael Carnahan and we know that his brother Joe is a big comic-book geek.
And probably Matthew shares the same interest.

In any case, whoever shamelessly stole that line is a

Why do I know what's in that bag? I'm not supposed to know that!

If he "stole" the line to piss of Warners and Snyder because he wasn't cast as Veidt, then wow...

It's my understanding that Tom Cruise is a huge comic book fan, and very much wanted to be involved in WATCHMEN. He was also in the running for IRON MAN way back when.

I see it more as a homage than a "stolen line". It's not the kind of line that no one's ever said before.

Box Office Mojo says...

Lions for Lambs
Domestic: $14,938,542 27.6%
+ Foreign: $39,127,741 72.4%
= Worldwide: $54,066,283
