I think I'm getting a hernia. I got a sore spot over my bellybutton and feels like a knot there. Anyone ever have a hernia? I'm going to my doctor Monday morning.

Doctor is definitely good - great that you've got an appointment for Monday.

In the meantime, if you really do have a hernia, don't do anything strenuous. ESPECIALLY lifting heavy things. You're just friggin' asking for it then.

Just like my friend who walked around with a burst appendix for two weeks. No excuse or reason to do that, especially since her family is money and she wouldn't have to worry about the medical costs. Sometimes I wonder about her...:funny:

Doctor.

I played all the "what if's" I could before the pain set in. Unless it is a mild case, in which one can presume, time for Doctor Love. . . if you understand what I mean.

Treat the pain, brother.

:seriously:

I think you get better answers here: http://www.webmd.com/

I've had bilateral inguinal Hernia and got surgery for it two years ago.

If you have a hernia in that area, if you flex you should see a bit of a bulge push out. Mine was down low and was easy to notice. If you get surgery hopefully you have insurance. Let me know if you have any other questions or a more detailed description.

Yeah, I have a hernia on both the left and right sides. 'Really sucks when I cough... which I do a lot since it's allergy season. :csad:

I had to wear one for about a year until I finally found a job from the temp agency that was temp to hire and I got health insurance again. The belt helps keep it in so it doesn't get worse over time.

I flipped my lid when I got mine checked out and they said that it can and usually will get worse over time and if you feel really bad sharp pains you need to go to the emergency room. I flipped because it was before I got health insurance again and when I looked in to how much surgery would cost they told me roughly $20,000 per side. :wow:
