With James Gunn taking over as CEO at DC Studios, I think it's fraggin time for a Lobo film. Jason Momoa recently said his dream DC Comics project will come true under James Gunn's watch. He has always been the perfect fit for Lobo, so could that be what he is talking about? Honestly James Gunn would probably be the one who should write and direct this one! James Gunn also teased this on the social media site called "Mastodon"

I have been a fan of Lobo for so many years, and I hope this finally happens!

I would love it, but unless they make him completely unrecognizable as Lobo, it will be next impossible for him to play Lobo since he's aquabro.

Im not seeing a problem on that, but considering the comparisons the General Audience etc make whenever a comic book movie comes out...i understand your point.

I personally dont care if he plays two different characters, i would be all for him being Lobo...it seems such no-brainer of a decision, he seems to fit the character so well...so i wouldnt say no to that.

You can put someone under enough makeup and do stuff to make them look different from another role. Gemma Chan played a role in both Captain Marvel and Eternals. Admittedly, that's different because Chan didn't have a ton of screen time in Captain Marvel, but still. Not impossible.

I'm thinking they could end up recasting certain actors for bigger roles like The Flash/Batman/maybe Aquaman through a big multiverse story. Or certain versions die while others (newly introduced versions of characters) live. Or he could end up playing both.

Maybe it's not a movie, just a limited TV series or something. But I hope it's a movie.

He'd make a perfect Lobo, but unless Aquaman is recast I think it would be a daft decision (unless they were set in different universes). Such a shame they didn't introduce Lobo in the DCEU first.

I really think they could end up recasting and maybe go with the more traditional looking Aquaman. We will see though. He could play both, or maybe the Lobo film is just it's own continuity, it could be under the "DC Black Label" such as Joker.

Lobo is one of those roles where Jason could play both. I wouldnt need or want to see Lobo in a JL movie so he wouldnt crossover with himself.

I think the bigger worry is how the two will be different from another personality wise. Jason practically plays Aquaman the same way he would Lobo. Even if he doesnt play him and they somehow are in the same movie...they wouldnt seem much different apart from skin color

I don't understand why the same actors should play again and again in these types of movies. Yes, he would be a good fit for Lobo and yes, technically it can happen. But why would it? He's already Aquaman and there are so many more (and better) actors out there. Let someone else play the part.

Honestly just go with someone else.

Unlike with Gemma Chan and Michelle Yeoh, one was a villain covered in blue paint. The second was a 1 time cameo. Jason is playing a lead character which he has already appeared in 4 DCEU movies and probably more down the line.

Like what's neXt, Gal Gadot as Zatanna? and we know she would look the part easily.

I’m all for him playing Lobo, but only if he is under a bunch of prosthetics/makeup with some digital alteration of his voice. Enough that he is completely distinguishable from Aquaman.

He has also said in the past that Lobo is the only other DC character aside from Aquaman he would want to take on. In another interview with ComicBook.com from 2019, the actor was asked who else in the DC mythos he would want to play, and he said "Lobo,” noting that he would like to take on " a villain.”

I’d love Momoa as Lobo and really hope it happens. I’d be fine with Gunn, Snyder, or Muschietti directing. They could all bring something different. Such a great fraggin character. What are people’s favorite story arcs? I’ve read a lot on the DCU app.

Lobo The Last Czarnian/The Paramilitary Christmas Special/Lobo's Back's Back. I mostly read collected graphic novels and got some single issue. I read the revamped Lobo comics with the skinny redesign and didn't really dig it.

I wish they would have released more than two volumes of the classic stories. What comics you reccomend man?

It'd be pretty cool, no doubt.
Intergalactic bounty hunter on a space Harley.
What's not to love.

That said I hope they keep what makes lobo LOBO.
The space harley MUST be there.
And he must say I'm the main man at least once, if not twice.

He's not evil nor good. He just is.

It'd be pretty cool if someone from another planet put a bounty out on Lex, Lobo shows up, and superman has to actually protect lex from Lobo.

Gal as Zatanna is nothing like Jason as possible Lobo. Let's at least try to give reasonable comparisons. Lobo is an alien who is chalk white, black around the eyes, no pupils.

Even though i don't need Jason in this role, it's in his wheelhouse and suits him WAY MORE than Aquaman does. But like i said, his Aquaman isn't that far off from Lobo imo which is the biggest problem with him taking on the role.

Lobo has to be more foul mouthed and I'd have mamoa do mocap for Lobo. Make Lobo 7 ft tall and more muscular. There's enough room for him to do both roles imo.

I genuinely think he got the role and is probably producing the film as well.

I think the Paramilitary Christmas Special would be such a good foundation for a film. But I won’t be surprised or disappointed if they do something else.

I wouldn't be mad if they incorporated a scene or two from the Lobo fan film, just because I feel that's such a cult classic for Lobo fans. Or bring in the guy who played Lobo in the fan film for a short cameo. Had to look up his name (Andrew Bryniarski)

I read the comic it was based on last year and I loved it! Probably my favorite Lobo story I’ve read. And yeah Bryniarski should get a cameo for sure.

I'm gonna go to my local comic shop and try and pick up some more 90s Lobo comics. I never read the new Lobo/Crush series, was that any good? Yeah Paramilitary Christmas Special is such a fun read man haha!

I’ve only read 90s and 00s Lobo. I’m so glad that the comics returned to his original appearance, New 52 Lobo was so bad.

This is the Lobo I want. Embrace the crazy, and the distasteful, and please don't try to make him grounded in realism.
He will be runied if that's the case
