Loeb's New Ultimates

Just read a preview of issue 1. Turns out that in the first ish, Loeb's decided to dredge back up the "Defenders" that Millar had created as a joke in the original Ultimates, but now Loeb's decided to try and make them into real, formidable super beings.

I'm sure the explanation will be totally coherent and rational, if he even bothers giving one...

Which reminds me, did he ever bother explaining why Thor's girlfriend suddenly had powers when originally she'd been one of the powerless joke characters too?
