Long and SPOILER filled synopsis of Thor Ragnarok

Would it not be easier to put a sticky at the top of the page saying "Loki fans not welcome here?"

No, but if it is like the situation I cited, where a great active thread was overrun, derailed and taken over by two new posters for months, then yeah, that wouldn't be preferable :)

Oh God...

Look, I'm not going to apologize for having an opinion about Loki. And yes, I'm a Loki fan and since he's a character in Thor Ragnarok I believe I'm allowed to express my opinion on him and other characters of the movie. Especially in the spoilers thread.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with other fans, but that doesn't mean you it's alright to make other fans feel unwelcome in the thread because we also want to talk about our favorite character. No one is preventing anyone to talk about Thor, Hulk, Valkyrie or any of the other characters. There's enough room on the internet for all of us. We're all nerds here.

As for the Grandmaster scene, I don't think it means anything. It was just an awkward moment when he said that he would be millions of years old on another planet, not realizing the same happens in Sakaar.

Thank you for this. And I've gotten my response to my question about the Grandmaster and Loki, and it was wonderfully answered. Turns out my opinion on the scene is pretty much right. Though wish we did have more representing in bi/gays. Though Tessa Thompson did confirm that Valkyrie is bi, so that's something. Though I wish they used more males for that too, and Loki would be prefect for being Bi as would the Grandmaster, IMO.

You're welcome :yay:

Do any of you guys have any thoughts or theories about Odin's past? We've seen Bor, so that remained canon, but I wish we could know more about Odin and Hela's time. It appears it was before Frigga married him (since she was blonde and Odin was a red head), so she isn't Hela's mother. Did Odin make everyone forget what he did or did he alter reality?

It was mentioned that after locking Hela away that Odin rewrote time or something. Also I think it was mentioned that Odin was much worst and then changed after rewriting time, but during his 'evil' ways Hela was his executor. I don't know if I remember that right, but I believe that's what I've read. I have a theory, but seeing how it's about why Hela and Loki seem to look alike I'll just keep that to myself. Though I'll say that it plays into mothers and that I agree in thinking Frigga is not Hela's mother.

Speaking of theories, in the Infinity War trailer, after Thor wakes up inside the Guardians ship, there's a shot of them looking in horror at something outside the ship.

Since we know that Thanos ship shows up in the after credits scene I have a theory on what that means.

My guess is that Thor made them return to the place where the ship with the Asgardians refugees was and they find it completely destroyed with no survivors.

Do you think that Thanos will kill heimdall and valkyre there?

Heimdall maybe, Valkyrie I'm willing to bet will be in IW. I think Loki will met his end in IW as well. In fact I don't think he'll be in IW long.

Does Odin know Hela is coming? Some say she's in Asgard before the brothers visit Earth, some say Hela only shows up after Odin's death. So do they go after him just because he's been missing from Asgard or because they need his help to defeat Hela? Does Hela absorb the power of the hammer, the other relics or the odinforce? Is that how she gets stronger?
it seems that Hela is a special case.

you can't kill her unless you destroy Asgard it seems.

hm wouldn't it make more sense if Thor, Valkyrie, Hulk and Loki fought Hela and beat her???

I doubt that she is above them when they fight her together... is she???

I think Surtur defeating her is cooler and more unique.

I made the Akdtich Killian vs Drax thread/poll, it's in my signature

Dude, good call. :)

Yep Thor does technically bring about Ragnarok in this film. Also Age of Ultron first showed Thor's inner lightning abilities in that cave pool as well as Thor's two visions.

It seems Odin has gotten a bit of a shaft. He is the king. From a narrative stand point. I don't think his history is really covered. Which is too bad.

We don't really know how is powers work either, but he should be immensly powerful

And to Big Thor, I love Surtur being the one to defeat Hela. It was as we speculated, didn't matter that Hela is the primary villain, Surtur is the be all end all

Yes sir, all is right with the world especially after that Destroyer nonesense from the first film.

Kurse lived up to the hype and now Surtur does, probably even surpasses it as I didn't expect him ti actually destroy a planetary body.

The fact that Odin dies before getting to have a scene with Hela, and that the brother/sister angle between her and Thor seems like it's so underplayed, sounds a bit disappointing.

tbf Asgard isn't that big.

yep, it s a typical MCU villain syndrome.

the villain is a badass af but they don't use her to her fullest potential.

What does it matter, size isn't everything.

Destroying Asgard is a big deal in the comics and a big deal in the films, it's obviously more durable than an average planet. It housed the Infinity Gauntlet, the Tesseract, Eternal Flame, and several other world destroying artifacts, I'm sure destroying it is not easy feat.

Sounds like they are setting up Thor to be the next Odin, setting the stage for future Thor movies featuring a female Thor, with a new Mjolnir. Wonder if we'll get a female Loki too ?

This movie sounds beyond awesome ! Wonder if they will find a way to do Beta Ray Bill in the future ?

As a DC fanboy, it pains me to say it but I am more excited about Ragnarok than I am about JL.

Originally I had concerns that Taika couldn't pull it off but it sounds like he did an amazing job.

No female Thor please, but I wouldn't mind seeing Beta Ray Bill now that Thor has had 3 solo films.

I say make Surtur the full on main villain for Thor 4 and show him destroying the Korbinites planet then bam, Beta Ray Bill!
