Maybe down the road. Right now when I watch movies I sometimes can't hear all of what is said, especially if it's one of those where the background music is too loud. I've been using subtitles to catch what I miss.

It will be best to stay away from theaters then, they always play on highest audio degree, this will be bad.

I use subtitles now more than I used to. Too much loud music has reduced my hearing.

I'm legally partially deaf in my left ear which also happens to be the ear I use for my DJ headphones. The first to go is always the really high and really low tones. Funny thing is, for the most part I can hear minute details with that ear still since most things don't fall in the range that I can't hear.

That's a problem in general. Many movies have sound mixes where the dialogue is really low and the "action" is really high.

Be careful of Nicolas Cage movies; the dialogue is either whispered or screamed.

The music often tends to be really loud for Chris Nolan movies. I couldn't understand what Michael Caine's character was saying in his final scene in Interstellar.

I love subtitles, especially in sci-fi/fantasy/superhero or any technically complex kind of films so I can catch every word. Although they have to be subtle and at the bottom of the screen so they don't intrude on what's going on.

My roommate is slightly hard of hearing, and he puts closed captions on every movie so he can catch everything. At first I thought it was sort of annoying, but now I'm used to it and the other day I actually asked for them before he did.

It does help catch every word sometimes, especially in shows where characters have heavy accents or you're not familiar with the style of speaking, etc.
